Univision Launches Hispanic MVNO on T-Mobile's Network
Univision, the Spanish-language television network, today announced Univision Mobile, a wireless service designed for Hispanics living in the U.S. Univision Mobile is an MVNO and will resell access to T-Mobile's 2G/3G network. Univision Mobile has two basic plans. The first provides unlimited talk and text for $30 month. The second provides unlimited talk, text, and up to 2.5GB of 3G data for $45 per month. Both plans include unlimited international texting from the U.S. to some Latin American countries and 200 other countries around the world. Further, the service includes 100 voice minutes for calling mobile or landlines in Mexico and seven other Latin American countries. In addition to the basic communications services, Univision Mobile includes a portal with news, sports, and entertainment for Hispanics, as well as Univision apps, ringtones, wallpaper, and more content. Univision Mobile will be available in Walmart stores beginning May 19. It will also be available for purchase in select retailers in Puerto Rico. According to Univision, customers may bring their own compatible handset and purchase a Univision SIM card, or choose from Univision's own handsets.
Univision Mobile Adds No-Cost International Calling
Univision Mobile, which operates in partnership with T-Mobile, today added no-cost international calling and texting to its service plans. Customers can now send messages to and call mobile and landlines in 200 countries, including much of Latin America, as well as roam in 15 countries.
T-Mobile Adds to List of Supported Binge-On Video Services
T-Mobile today increased the number of video apps that are available through its Binge-On streaming video program. The new services include Google Play Music (music videos), Great Big Story, NBC, Ligonier Ministries, Noggin, Qello Concerts, Radio Disney (music videos), Univision, Univision Noticias, Spotify (music videos), Tidal (music videos), and Toon Goggles.
T-Mobile Adds Video Services and Controls to Binge On
T-Mobile today increased the number of content partners available to its Binge On service by four. T-Mobile customers can now stream video content from Amazon Video, Fox News, Univision NOW, and WWE Network over LTE without impacting their monthly data bucket.
MetroPCS Adds Cuba to World Calling Plan
MetroPCS today added Cuba to the list of countries included in the MetroPCs World Calling add-on plan. The add-on, which costs $10 per month, now offers 20 minutes of calling to landlines or mobile devices in Cuba and unlimited texting to Cuba at no extra charge.
