Facebook's Paper App for iPhone Refreshed with New Features
Facebook today made Paper version 1.1 available to the iPhone. Paper re-encapsulates Facebook content and presents it in a more appealing digital magazine. Today's update adds a number of new features including: birthdays and other events, photo commenting, group updates, new story buttons, more article covers, and accessibility options. Paper is only available to the iPhone at the moment, though Facebook said an Android version is in the works. Paper 1.1 for iPhone is free to download from the iTunes App Store.
Facebook Messenger for Android Updated to Match iPhone
Facebook has updated the Android version of its Messenger application with the same new features given to the iPhone version earlier this week. Facebook Messenger for Android is now able to send videos directly from the camera roll, and will instantly playback videos received in conversation threads.
Facebook Brings Graph Search to iPhone
Facebook today detailed some updates it's made to search both on Facebook.com and within the iPhone app. Most importantly, Facebook is adding Graph Search to the iPhone mobile app, which will allow iPhone users to search for things such as "Which of my friends likes 'Homeland'?" and other natural language queries.
Prisma Brings Its Filters to Facebook Live
Prisma today made it possible to add its filters to Facebook Live videos. Owners of the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7, and iPhone 7 Plus can go live on Facebook with Prisma's style filters applied to the live video feed.
Facebook's Events App to Help You Find Things to Do
Facebook today announced a new app called Events, which is meant to help Facebook users find and schedule tings to do with family and friends. The app will highlight events that friends are planning to attend, new events added by liked pages, and updates from events to which users may have already RSVP'd.
Facebook for Windows Phone Receives Major Facelift
Microsoft has made available a new version of Facebook for the Windows Phone platform. The latest update to the social networking app mixes in several new features that were previously only available in the beta, as well as overhauls both the user experience and performance.
