C Spire Wireless is running a promotion that will pay up to $200 to cover the cost of early termination fees for customers who switch from another carrier. The $200 is being offered as a credit towards future service. C Spire is also throwing in an additional $50 credit from its PERCs program, and another $100 for every third referral. Last, C Spire is offering up to $300 for device trade-ins. "To avoid the hassle and the inconvenience, many decide to stay with their current carriers even though better options exist elsewhere," said C Spire spokesperson Dave Miller in an email to Fierce Wireless. "Adding ETF [reimbursement] to our arsenal gives consumers another reason to consider switching to C Spire and it removes a financial pain point and barrier to consideration." C Spire's move echoes one made by T-Mobile earlier this year. C Spire hasn't indicated how long its promotion will run.
