AT&T Spreads LTE to a Handful of Small Markets
AT&T today lit up LTE 4G in a batch of smaller cities and towns around the country. The new markets include Anderson, Ind.; Deridder, La.; Midland, Mich.; Lebanon, Mo; Claremont, N.H.; Lumberton, N.C.; Bismark, N.D.; Bellefontaine and Defiance, Ohio; Greenwood and Seneca, S.C.; and Gainesville, Texas. AT&T customers with LTE-capable devices in these markets should experience improved mobile broadband performance.
AT&T Shows Off '5G Evolution' Mobile Hotspot
AT&T today announced the Netgear Nighthawk Mobile Hotspot Router, what it calls the first 5G evolution mobile hotspot. The device supports AT&T's test 5G networks in select markets, such as Austin, Texas, and AT&T's existing LTE 4G network everywhere else.
Sprint Doubles LTE Plus Footprint
Sprint today said it has doubled the availability of its LTE Plus coverage from 77 markets in November to more than 150 markets today. Some of the new markets include Boulder, Colo., West Palm Beach, Fla., Cleveland, Ohio, and Syracuse, N.Y.
T-Mobile Hits 741 Mbps with LTE-LAA, Deploys LTE-U
T-Mobile today said it, too, has successfully tested LTE-LAA in real-world trials. The company claims its LTE-LAA tests reached 741 Mbps in and around Los Angeles.
AT&T Finally Using WCS Spectrum for LTE; Will Test LTE-U
AT&T has begun deploying LTE on its 2.3GHz WCS spectrum in a handful of markets around the country. Earlier this year, AT&T said it would begin the deployment by summer, and it is just meeting that commitment.
