Nokia and HTC Settle Global Patent Litigation
Nokia and HTC have settled all patent litigation between the two companies. HTC said it will make some payments to Nokia regarding the standard essential patents in question. Further, Nokia and HTC have agreed to collaborate on certain LTE 4G technologies moving forward. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
LG Agrees to Pay Nokia Royalties, But Rates Not Settled
LG has signed a patent-licensing agreement with Nokia over smartphone technology, but the companies have yet to agree on pricing for the patents. Nokia may have sold its handset business to Microsoft, but it retained many of the related patents for licensing purposes.
Apple and Nokia Bury the Patent Hatchet
Apple today said it has settled its patent complaints against Nokia and the two have signed a multi-year patent license. The two corporations sued one another in December of last year concerning licensing fees for Nokia's patents.
Nokia and Samsung Settle Patent Licensing Deal
Nokia today said it has reached an agreement with Samsung over the licensing of its wireless patents. The companies have been disputing the value of Nokia's patents since Nokia sold its handset division to Microsoft.
Nokia and Samsung Expand Patent Agreement
Nokia and Samsung have broadened an existing patent cross-licensing agreement to include more intellectual property. The companies ended patent litigation between the two in February with an initial cross-licensing agreement.
