Google Publishes Chromecast SDK for Mobile Apps
Google today made a software developers kit available to application writers that will allow them to add Chromecasting ability to their apps. Chromecast is already available from a number of Android and iOS apps, and lets device owners push content from their phone or tablet to a Chromecast unit attached to their TV set. Google hopes that offering the SDK will expand the number of mobile apps taking advantage of Chromecast.
Google Refreshes Its Chromecast Products for TVs and Stereos
Google today announced two new Chromecast products meant to help improve the living room experience. The Chromecast 2 TV dongle uses HDMI to plug into television sets and includes dual-band 802.11ac WiFi for improved performance with the local wireless network.

Google today revealed the Chromecast Ultra, a new version of its home video HDMI dongle. Like last year's Chromecast, the Cromecast Ultra plugs directly into the HDMI port of television sets and allows people to cast content from their smartphones and tablets to their TVs.
Google Publishes Android 5.0 Preview, Updates SDK
Google today made available several significant tools for developers ahead of the general release of Android 5.0 Lollipop. First, Google released updated developer images for the Nexus 5, Nexus 7 (2013), ADT-1, and the Android emulator.
HBO Now, Other Android Apps Add Chromecast Support
HBO updated its HBO Now application and added support for Google's Chromecast device. Android smartphone and tablet owners will now be able to push HBO Now content from their device to a Chromecast-equipped TV.
Handful of Video Apps Add Chromecast Support
Google today said a bunch of mobile video apps have been updated with support for its Chromecast product. Android device owners can stream video from the CBS All Access, FOX NOW, FXNOW, HGTV, Pluto TV, and Haystack TV apps on their handset or tablet to their TV via Chromecast.
