Apple Snaps Up SnappyLabs
Apple has confirmed the purchase of SnappyLabs, makers of the SnappyCam app for iOS. SnappyCam lets an iPhone take unusually high-speed burst photos, up to 60 per second. The app also claims to support 6x lossless digital zoom.
Facebook to Support iPhone's Live Photos
The Facebook iOS application now lets users upload, share, and view Live Photos captured with the iPhone 6s or 6s Plus. Live Photos debuted with the newest iPhones from Apple earlier this year.
Apple Reiterates that All New Apps Must Support iPhone X
Apple today released a new beta build of iOS 11.4 and reminded developers that they need to use the latest tools and support the newest devices as they code their apps. "Starting July 2018, all iOS app updates submitted to the App Store must be built with the iOS 11 SDK and must support the Super Retina display of iPhone X," said Apple on its developer web site.
Apple Says Final Version of iOS 10 to Be Available Sept. 13
Apple today revealed that iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch owners will be able to upgrade to the latest version of its iOS platform come September 13. iOS 10 focuses on integrating Siri into third-party apps and makes significant changes to the Apple Photos, News, Maps, and Music apps.
Apple Puts Its Foot Down, Will Require Apps Support iPhone X
Apple today told developers that soon all new apps submitted to the iTunes App Store must support the screen of the latest iPhone. "Starting April 2018, all new iOS apps submitted to the App Store must be built with the iOS 11 SDK, included in Xcode 9 or later," said Apple in an email to developers.
