Facebook Now Auto-Plays Videos on iOS Devices
Facebook pushed out an update to its iOS application that enables auto-play for videos embedded in newsfeed posts. The videos will play silently until the user taps the screen to turn on sound. The update is free.

Twitter today said it will begin playing videos, GIFs, and Vines embedded in tweets automatically on the web and in the Android and iOS mobile apps. Users can choose to have videos play automatically all the time, only when on WiFi, or only when tapped by the user.
