Verizon Pushes VoLTE Launch to 2014
Verizon Wireless today indicated that it plans to launch VoLTE service next year. As recently as October 8, Verizon said that VoLTE handsets and service would launch this year. The news regarding the delay was buried in a press release about the third anniversary of Verizon's LTE network launch. Specifically, Verizon said, "Next year, customers will be able to experience VoLTE, a 4G LTE technology that can enable a host of advanced services, including HD Voice and video chat." Verizon didn't provide an explanation for the apparent change of schedule.
Verizon Recommits to VoLTE Rollout This Year
Verizon Wireless today said it will officially rollout VoLTE services "later this year." Verizon originally committed to launching VoLTE by the end of 2013, but then delayed the launch for reasons unknown. Though Verizon Wireless did not say exactly when VoLTE will finally get off the ground, it did share a few more details about what consumers can expect.
AT&T, Verizon Intercarrier VoLTE Launch Target Comes and Goes
AT&T and Verizon Wireless are still working to launch support for intercarrier VoLTE, despite missing the initial target. The companies expected to allow one another's customers to connect VoLTE calls between them before the end of 2015.

HTC One A9: First Phone To Work on Verizon Without CDMA
HTC will sell an unlocked version of its new One A9 that can be used on Verizon's LTE network, even though the phone lacks the legacy CDMA technology found in all other Verizon phones to date. That makes the One A9 the first phone announced for use with Verizon in LTE-only mode.
