Twitter for Android and iOS Updated with New Previews
Twitter today delivered updates to both its Android and iOS applications. The latest version of Twitter offers previews of photos, Vine videos and other content directly in the timeline. Users can tap images/video to see the full screen version, as well as Tweet images with no text, and reply, retweet, favorite, or follow someone straight from a Tweet in the main timeline. Twitter for Android and iOS is free to download from the Google Play Store and the iTunes App Store.
Twitter Rolls Out Polling Feature to Android and iOS Apps
Twitter today said anyone will be able to create polls from their mobile device thanks to an update rolling out this week. Twitter says users can create two-choice polls right from the Tweet composition box.
Twitter to Post Larger Images In Timelines
Twitter today said it is improving the multimedia experience of Twitter.com by changing how it handles images. Moving forward, Twitter will now show full image previews, rather than crop them.
Twitter @Replies No Longer Count Toward 140-Character Limit
Twitter today improved its service a little bit by cutting @replies from the character limit. Moving forward, when people reply to an individual or to a group, the @username(s) will not count toward the Tweet's 140 characters.
Twitter More Prominently Suggesting Who to Follow
Twitter has tweaked its Android and iOS mobile apps by adding "who to follow" suggestions directly to users' timelines. Twitter says it relies on a number of factors to determine the suggested accounts, including users' email and phone contacts, as well as what types of accounts they already follow.
Twitter Integrates SoundCloud for In-App Audio
Twitter today announced a new feature that will allow users of its Android and iOS apps to listen to music/sound clips directly from their timeline. According to Twitter, the new Twitter Audio Card can be docked and allow users to listen to the songs or clips even as they continue to browse through their timeline.
