Sprint to Take LG G2 Pre-Orders Starting October 11
Sprint today announced that the LG G2 will be available for pre-order beginning October 11, and available for purchase "before the holidays." The G2 will cost $199.99 with a new contract. Sprint is offering the Quick Window case ($49.99) for free to customers who pre-order the G2 via its web site. The G2 is LG's flagship smartphone and has a 5.2-inch full HD screen, 13-megapixel camera, and Snapdragon 800 processor.
LG to Push Knock Code to G2, G Flex in April
LG today announced it is prepared to extend the availability of its Knock Code feature beginning next month. Knock Code lets LG device owners use a pattern of knocks to wake up and unlock their smartphone.
Sprint Details First Tri-Band LTE Phones with 'Spark'
Sprint today announced Sprint Spark, its next-generation networking technology that will make use of all three Sprint spectrum bands to boost mobile broadband speeds to 50-60Mbps. "Sprint Spark is a combination of advanced capabilities, like 1x, 2x and 3x carrier aggregation for speed, 8T8R for coverage, MIMO for capacity, TDD for spectral efficiency, together with the most advanced devices offering both tri-band capability and high-definition voice for the best possible customer experience," said Sprint CEO Dan Hesse.
LG to Expand Knock Feature to L Series II Phones
LG today said that it will make its Knock feature available to more of its Android smartphones, beginning with the L Series II devices. Knock, which was first introduced on the LG G2, lets users turn the screen on or off by knocking on it twice with their finger.
Google Shows Off Nexus 6 Smartphone, Nexus 9 Tablet
Google today announced Android 5.0 Lollipop and with it the first few devices to run the new operating system, the Nexus 6 and the Nexus 9. The Nexus 6 is a large-screened smartphone made by Motorola.
