Spotify for Windows Phone Jumps Out of Beta
Spotify for the Windows Phone platform has graduated from its beta status and added several new features. Among the new capabilities, users will be able to scrub through tracks, as well as sync playlists for offline playback. Spotify for Windows Phone now has support for 19 languages, and includes the ability to search through and play millions of songs, see friends' playlists, stream over cellular or Wi-Fi, and more. The application itself is free to download, but most features require a premium account, which costs $10 per month.

Spotify and Facebook have rolled out a new tool they believe will make listening to music more social. The tool, called Group Playlists for Messenger, lets people create and build Spotify playlists together within Messenger.

Microsoft today announced changes to its music offering for Windows devices that will see it transition from its own Groove Music service to Spotify. According to Microsoft, the Groove Music media player application will continue to work for playing back owned music on Windows devices, but it will no longer offer the option to stream, purchase, or download music after December 31.
