Received i730, Let me know if you need any info/specs

I know I was looking for bluetooth specs...

Here's an excerpt from the manual:

Bluetooth Modes
Your i730 supports the following profile services:
* SDAP (Service Discovery Application Profile)
* FTP (File Transfer profile)
* GAP (Generic Access profile)
* HFP (Hands Free profile)
* HSP (Headset profile - Note: stereo headset profile not
* HID (Human Interface Device Profile - Bluetooth keyboard only)
* OBEX (Object Exchange profile)
* OPP (Object Push profile)
* SPP (Serial Port profile)
* ActiveSync (Uses SPP to connect to ActiveSync on a computer)

Anyone know what GAP is?
GAP is a US clothing store that sells... Wink

Generic Access Profile (GAP)
GAP defines how two Bluetooth units discover and establish a connection with each other. GAP handles discovery and establishment between units that are unc...
Does it give any specifics about which OBEX protocols are permitted? See my message (under michalopoulosgk) in this message list. The Verizon site states that not all OBEX protocols are supported. Does it mention anything about connecting with cars eq...

Locating my ESN and PIN

I am interested in getting Blackberry push services for my phone. I need to get the ESN and PIN for it.

Anyone have an idea where I could find those? I did once find the ESN in some huge hierarchy of menus but can't seem to get it again. As for the pin, I am yet to see that.

Blackberry does not appear anywhere in the manual but it is listed on many sites specs for the phone.

Just ordered the i730 - lower prices than mentioned in article!

I just called Verizon at 800-485-1997 and ordered the i730 for $384. I did not have an account or service w/Verizon and only activated 1 line! You press option 1, then tell whoever answers what state you're calling from. Then they transfer you.

At first, the agent said that they didn't have it, then I told him that it had been released for B2B today and lo and behold, he found it in his database@ He initially said it was $484 w/a 2 year and $534 w/1 year. Then I told him that I thought there was a $100 discount if you get a data plan w/this phone. At first he said "No," then he checked w/his business department and came back and said I was right -- if you get the unlimited data plan at $44.99 a month you get a $100 discount, bringing it t...
their data prices are really high...
I just ordered it too, but they would not give me the $384 price unless I ordered 5 lines Sad. I kept asking the agent if he was sure about that, and he put me on hold twice to check it, but still I was denied.

So I ended up getting the phone for $...

Samsung i730 and OBEX

From the website announcing i730 for Verizon:
http://www.vzwshop.com/samsungi730info/ »

at the footnote, and in relation to Bluetooth,it states:

"It does not support all profiles for object exchange (OBEX)."

Does this imply that some are supported and some are not? Or, that all OBEX protocols are not supported?

Very confusing!

Does this phone (Verizon version) have Bluetooth? If so, it is hampered in any way?
Yes, this phone has bluetooth. They tried to sell me a BT headset today when I bought the i730.

So...What is the final configuration?

Well. There has been much speculation. Camera Vs. No camera. Wi-fi Vs. No Wi-fi.

Now that the phone is finally announced, what is the actual configuration?
Yes to WiFi, but turning WiFi on turns the CDMA radio off. It's one or the other, kids...

No camera at launch. Same as with the Treo650, if there is a substantial demand for a camera unit, that SKU will be released at a later date.
Jump to the Samsung i730 form by using the search box at the top right hand of the side -- there are more details there.
