Sprint Unveils EV-DO Launch Plans

Sprint's has added a new section to their Business website detailing the rollout of their EV-DO high speed data network. The company notes that it will launch the network on a rolling basis - even within a single metro area - targeting more populated and business districts first. Launches will begin "mid-2005" and will blanket nearly 60 metro areas by early 2006. A full list of cities is available on the site, as well as a map of EV-DO coverage by zip code. Sprint expects to have four EV-DO capable handsets at launch, and may announce one as early as this week.

Sprint today made good on its May promise to bring Direct 2 You to New York, Denver, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. The service is now live in these cities and a number of smaller cities and towns in the surrounding metro areas.
AT&T Names First Three 5G Markets On Deck for 2018 Launch
AT&T today said Dallas and Waco, Texas, and Atlanta will be its first three mobile 5G markets and it plans to launch before the end of the year. AT&T has more markets prepped for mobile 5G and will name them later.
