Yahoo Debuts New Weather and Mail Apps
Yahoo today unwrapped a brand new weather application for the Apple iPhone. Yahoo already provides the data used by Apple for the native iPhone weather application, but this new app is separate. Yahoo Weather for iPhone offers a richer user experience thanks to location-specific photography and more granular data about current weather conditions and forecasts. It is free to download from the iTunes App Store. Yahoo also debuted a new version of its Yahoo Mail application for Android tablets and the iPad. The new Yahoo Mail app for tablets carries over many of the design elements brought to the iPhone and Android smartphone versions of Yahoo Mail that were released late last year. The tablet email apps focus on the reading experience by emphasizing the text and content of the message rather than the surrounding app. Yahoo Mail is free to download from the iTunes App Store and Google Play Store.

Apple today announced the HomePod, a new in-home speaker similar to the Google Home and Amazon Echo. It features the Siri voice-based assistant and can act on spoken requests with a focus on music.

Yahoo Adds Package Tracking to iOS Mail App
Yahoo today announced an update to its Mail App for iOS devices an added the ability to automatically track packages. According to Yahoo, users will see their shipments from Amazon, eBay, Zappos, Target, Best Buy, Macys.com, and others under the "Yahoo Today" section of the app, which will display shipping date, item description, and expected arrival.
Yahoo Adds Gmail Support to Yahoo Mail
Yahoo Mail today gained the ability to manage Gmail and Google Apps accounts. Yahoo relaunched the app in October and made it compatible with AOL, Hotmail, and Outlook.
Yahoo Mail for iOS Adds Themes, Support for 3D Touch
Yahoo today rolled out an update to its iOS email application and added several new features. To start, users can now select from a number of different colored themes and can go so far as to set a different theme for each managed account (Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail email addresses) to make them easier to separate.
Lots more weather information than the standard app, this one includes wind speed + direction, a miniature radar map you can view, barometer, humidity, PoP, sunrise/sunset, moon phases.
