Google+ Updated for Android and iOS

Google today made available updates to both the Android and iOS versions of its Google+ application. The iOS version of Google+ gains several photo editing capabilities including crop, rotate, and the ability to apply filters. The iOS app also gains a new profile design, new notifications tray, new set-up flow for new users, as well as the ability to control the volume of posts in each stream and filter search results. The Android version of Google+ boasts many of the same improvements, but adds some visual improvements, such as in the activity stream, where it is easier to +1, share, or comment on posts. Google+ for Android and iOS is a free download from each platforms' respective app store.
Yahoo Updates Mail for Android and iOS with Customizable Swipes
Yahoo today made new versions of Yahoo Mail available to Android and iOS devices. The refreshed email application brings customizable swiping gestures to both platforms.
Google Hangouts for iOS Updated with Material Design
Google has refreshed its Hangouts app for the iOS platform and given the messaging service a new look and feel. The app now makes use of Google's Material Design and gains a new quick compose button for starting conversations.
Google Updates Maps for Android and iOS
Google recently updated its Maps application for both the Android and iOS platforms. The new version of Maps allows people to filter search results by cuisine, see current weather information for cities around the world, drop pins within navigation routes, and add transit directions directly to the calendar.
Airplay Support Comes to Google Play Movies for iOS
Google has updated its Play Movies & TV app for iOS devices and added direct Airplay support for streaming to the Apple TV. Play Movies users have been able to push content to the Apple TV for a while, but it involved a workaround.
