Last week Michael Dell was quoted as saying "We will continue to add functions to portable computers, notably third-generation mobile telephony." The company is reportedly exploring adding HSDPA, which Cingular is expected to launch late this year, as well as WiMax and other high speed wireless technologies to their laptops. Earlier the company was reported to be in talks with a number of North American mobile operators - most likely about tie ups such as the one Cingular and Sony just announced for the EDGE enabled T350 laptop.
