Nokia Releases Play To in Beta for Windows Phone 8
Nokia today made a beta version of its Play To app available to devices running Windows Phone 8. Play To behaves similar to DLNA in that it allows Lumia smartphone owners to wirelessly connect their phone to another device, such as a TV, XBox, or stereo system, and stream media content to that device. For the moment, the app is limited to the Lumia 920, 822, 820, 810, and 610. Interested Lumia owners must register with Nokia Beta Labs in order to download and use the app. Nokia did not say when a full version will be released in the Windows Phone Store.
Microsoft's Hyperlapse App Now Works with All Lumias
Microsoft recently updated its Hyperlapse time-lapse application for Windows Phone and Android devices. The Windows Phone version of Hyperlapse is now compatible with all Lumia handsets.
Sprint to Sell Nokia Lumia 635
Sprint today said fans of Windows Phone will soon have the option to buy the Lumia 635 through several different Sprint brands. Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile USA will begin selling the Lumia 635 online on Dec.
Nokia Brings HERE Maps to Google Play Store
Nokia today made its HERE Maps product more visible to Android device owners by adding it to the Google Play Store. Nokia has offered HERE Maps to Android devices in beta form since October, but only from its own web site.
Microsoft Lets Android Owners Compare Apps
Microsoft has released a new tool aimed at helping people switch from an Android smartphone to a Windows smartphone. AppComparison, an app for Android handsets, scans the device for apps and then finds the corresponding Windows apps.
