Google Updates Drive, Earth, and Maps for Android
Google recently pushed out updates to three of its Android applications. Google Drive is the only of the three that adds new features. The newest version of Drive for Android now lets users stream video files from Drive to their phone or tablet over the network, and also adds support for pinch-to-zoom in the presentation viewer. Google Earth and Google Maps receive only bug fixes in their respective updates.
Google Eases Drive Functionality for Android
Google today updated its Google Drive application for Android devices with some user-requested features that help the app perform more seamlessly. For example, users who preview files in Drive can open the file directly in their favorite editing program from the preview screen.
Google Drive Lets iPhone Owners Save Backups
Google recently made it easier for iPhone owners to save the contents of their devices in the cloud. Google Drive now includes several options within the iPhone app for backing up contacts, calendar events, and photos/videos.
Google Earth VR Gains Search Tool
Along with the new Google Earth mobile app for Android devices and Chrome desktop browsers, Google today updated Google Earth VR for Android. Moving forward, people can type addresses or locations in Google Earth VR and they'll be whisked away to any location on the globe.
