AT&T Swells Its LTE Footprint a Smidge
AT&T has expanded the availability of its LTE 4G network to new markets yet again. Today, it announced that LTE is available in Norfolk, Virginia Beach, and Portsmouth, Va., for the first time., as well as Albany, Dalton, and Calhoun, Ga. It also expanded its existing LTE service in Bucks and Montgomery Counties in Pennsylvania. Last week, AT&T lit up LTE in Macon, Ga., and Ithaca, N.Y. Customers in these regions with LTE-capable equipment should see a boost in mobile browsing speeds.
US Cellular to Boost LTE Footprint with 600 More Sites
U.S. Cellular recently talked about plans to expand the availability of its LTE 4G network from 94% of customers today to 98% of customers by the end of the year.
T-Mobile Talks VoLTE and HD Voice
T-Mobile today said its LTE network rollout continues to move forward at a steady clip. As of today, T-Mobile's LTE network covers 227 million POPs.
Sprint LTE and Spark Footprints Continue to Grow
Sprint today launched LTE service in 24 new markets and Spark service in an additional 24 markets. The company's LTE footprint now reaches 270 million POPs, while its Spark footprint reaches 125 million POPs.
Sprint Doubles LTE Plus Footprint
Sprint today said it has doubled the availability of its LTE Plus coverage from 77 markets in November to more than 150 markets today. Some of the new markets include Boulder, Colo., West Palm Beach, Fla., Cleveland, Ohio, and Syracuse, N.Y.
