RIM's Music and Video Store Has Major Studio Support
Research In Motion today announced details about the music and video content that will soon be available in BlackBerry World for BlackBerry 10 devices. The company said that most of the major music and movie studios are behind the content store, which will offer DRM-free music downloads and video rentals/purchases. According to RIM, most movies will be available the same day they are released on DVD, and television programming will be available the day after its airs. Shoppers will be able to preview tracks and make purchases with a number of payment options. The music and video content will first be available in the U.S., U.K., and Canada, with other regions expected to follow later in the year. RIM recently relaunched the web version of BlackBerry World, and the new BlackBerry World app, music, and video store will be part of BlackBerry 10 devices at launch.
