Amazon today announced that its Instant Video service is available to the Apple iPhone for the first time in the form of a new application. Amazon Instant Video and Prime Instant Video customers will now be able to stream or download content (movies and TV shows) from Amazon's online video service to their iPhone or iPod Touch for no extra cost. According to Amazon, iOS device users can surf for content in the Safari browser, purchase or rent it, and it will then automatically appear in their Amazon Instant Video application. The application is free, but the streaming services require a subscription payable to Amazon.
