Verizon Selling Some 700MHz Spectrum to Nortex
Verizon Wireless today announced one of its first sales of Lower A and B Block 700MHz spectrum licenses. This particular transaction will see Lower B Block 700MHz licenses transferred to Nortex Communications. Nortex is based in Muenster, Texas, and the spectrum covers four counties to the north and west of Dallas. Verizon did not say how much Nortex is paying for the spectrum licenses. The deal is subject to regulatory approval. Verizon agreed earlier this year to sell some of its 700MHz spectrum after the Federal Communications Commission gave it permission to purchase AWS spectrum licences from a consortium of cable companies.
AT&T and Pine Cellular Seek to Swap Spectrum Leases
AT&T and Pine Cellular have asked the FCC for permission to lease one another's spectrum. AT&T wants to snag a leased license in the Lower 700MHz B Block in parts of Arkansas from Pine.
C Spire Looking to Nab 700MHz Spectrum
C Spire Wireless is hoping to buy some Lower 700 MHz C Block spectrum from Waller Wireless. The companies recently filed the request with the FCC.
AT&T Taps East Kentucky Network for 700MHz Licenses
AT&T has filed paperwork with the FCC hoping to gain permission to purchase three Lower 700MHz C Block licenses from East Kentucky Network. The licenses in question cover 20 counties in three Cellular Market Areas across regions of Kentucky, Ohio, and West Virginia.
AT&T Seeking 700MHz Spectrum from Peoples Wireless
AT&T has asked the FCC for permission to purchase two Lower 700 MHz C Block licenses from Peoples Wireless in Texas. If granted, AT&T would hold 24 MHz of contiguous, paired Lower 700 MHz spectrum in the two cellular market areas in question.
