Updated: Added details.

HP today announced the availability of Open WebOS 1.0. The 1.0 release follows a beta version made available last month. According to HP, the "full webOS experience" is available within an emulator environment. The 1.0 product includes email and a browser, as well as numerous bug fixes and other tweaks When compared to the beta. It also supports Enyo2, which means developers can more easily port JavaScript apps. Together, these mean that webOS can be ported to new hardware and run new apps. HP said that it will continue to refine the platform further, and will soon add support for Qt5, WebKit 2.0, and various Bluetooth stacks, among other tools for developers. Open webOS 1.0 can be downloaded from HP's developer portal. Today's availability means HP delivered Open webOS in the timeframe it laid out last December.
