HTC recently launched a new trade-up program that offers consumers cash in exchange for unwanted or unused cell phones. According to HTC, consumers can get a quote for the value of their old phone from HTC's web site. The consumer then purchases a new HTC phone and mails in the old phone for a rebate. HTC requires that all devices traded in be functional, but they do not need to be made by HTC. HTC says that some devices may earn owners up to $300 for the trade-in.

Just checked

an Evo 4G, htc is offering $20 while Sprint is offering $52.00. Evo 3D htc offering $50.00, Sprint offering $62.00.
$130 for a Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket. Of course, generally it'll get you more money if you just sell it yourself on eBay or Craigslist.

Buy it at full retail, or with a contract?

That's the question to ask.
