Nokia today announced the availability of a new Twitter application for devices running Series 40. The free application allows Series 40 device owners to post tweets, follow their timeline, interact with followers via @replies and DMs, as well as discover trending topics and conversations. Twitter for Series 40 can be downloaded from the Nokia Store starting today, and Nokia said it will be preloaded on future Series 40 devices.

Microsoft today announced that Opera Software will soon provide the default app store for older Nokia handsets. Beginning in the first quarter of 2015, the Opera Mobile Store will replace the Nokia Store on devices running the Series 40, Series 60, Symbian, Asha, and Nokia X operating systems.
