Lumia 900 to Dance the Tango with AT&T This Month
AT&T today revealed that the Nokia Lumia 900 will be updated to Windows Phone 7.5 Tango in the weeks ahead. Officially, the Tango update will boost the software to version 7.10.8773.98 and is also being referred to as the Windows Phone 7.5 Refresh. The new system software upgrades the messaging app by permitting users to attach multiple files to a single multimedia message. The update also makes it possible to export phone contacts to a SIM card, as well as selectively import contacts from a SIM card to the device. Last, the update adds flip-to-silence. AT&T said the update will be made available soon.
Lumia 430 Most Affordable Windows Phone Yet
Microsoft today announced the Lumia 430, an entry-level smartphone that will be among those updated to Windows 10. The Lumia 430 features a 4-inch WVGA screen; 1.2GHz Snapdragon 200 processor with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage; 2-megapixel main camera and VGA user-facing camera; and 1,500mAh battery.
Tango Messaging App to Add Shopping Feature
Tango, maker of an over-the-top mobile messaging service, today plans to launch a new mobile shopping feature through partnerships with Walmart in the U.S. and Alibaba in China.
Microsoft Commences Denim Rollout to Lumia Phones
Microsoft today made good on a promise it made last month and began to distribute the Lumia Denim system update to devices running Windows Phone 8.1. The Denim update adds live folders, improves the Internet Explorer browser, adds SMS merging, and makes vast improvements to the imaging tools.
AT&T Pushing Demin Update to Lumia 1520
AT&T today made the Denim system update available to the Nokia Lumia 1520. The update makes numerous changes to the behavior of the camera, including a faster shutter and 4K video capture, and also adds Live Folders and an updated Glance screen.
Lumia Camera App to Reach More Phones
Microsoft today said it has updated a handful of its apps for Windows Phone devices. The Nokia Camera app is being renamed to Lumia Camera, though there are no changes to the app itself.
