Verizon's Galaxy S III Arrives July 10

Verizon Wireless today announced that its variant of the Samsung Galaxy S III will be available for sale starting July 10. As with other carriers, Verizon is charging $199.99 for the 16GB version and $249.99 for the 32GB version. The 32GB will be online starting July 10, but won't reach stores for several more weeks. Verizon is offering both the white and blue colors. A new two-year service contract is required for those price points. The Galaxy S III is already available from AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile USA.

Pre-order date?

This must mean the pre-orders will arrive before July 10th. Has anyone heard if this is the case? Mine still says July 11th under order status.

It said originally mine would ship by July 9th. I received an e-mail yesterday saying it shipped and the tracking shows it will be delivered today!

I had a Sprint customer try and tell me Verizon has their inventory and they'd get theirs on the 7th if they went with Verizon. I laugh at you customer. I even told you that the date they saw on the site was not a guaranteed date. Samsung botched this release.

Was it Samsung? Or did Apple put pressure on suppliers to restrict parts to Samsung?

The latter seems very likely if you ask me....classic monopolostic behavior on the part of Apple.

Did they? I keep hearing people say that "Samsung botched the release" but none have shown any evidence of this being their fault directly. They seemed to handle the international release (the one they have more control over) just fine. These delay...
