T-Mobile Revamps Device Insurance

T-Mobile today announced the availability of a new device insurance option for some customers. The Monthly4G Handset Protection (MHP) plan offers coverage for accidental damage, water damage, loss, theft, and mechanical or electrical malfunction after the manufacturer's warranty has expired. The insurance program costs $7 per month and requires a Monthly4G device plan.

Wow.

After the manufacturers' warranty period ends? So if my device is "water damaged" during the 1st year it's not covered. That's not good.
I think you are reading this wrong. Only the last part of the sentence applies to after the manufacturer's warranty: "and mechanical or electrical malfunction after the manufacturer's warranty has expired"

This is consistent with T-Mobile's total ...
