AT&T has turned on its LTE 4G network in Cleveland, Ohio. AT&T customers in that market will be able to access faster data services with devices such as the HTC One X and Nokia Lumia 900.
More Carriers and Phone Makers Agree to Adopt Google's RCS-Based 'Android Messages' Service
Google today said more wireless network operators and handset manufacturers will use Android Messages, its RCS-based messaging service, as the default SMS/MMS tool on their phones. (Android Messages was previously known as Google Messenger.) Some of the features of RCS, which is a global standard, include group chat, high-resolution photo sharing, advanced calling features, and read receipts.
Verizon Opens LTE Network to Prepaid Customers
Verizon Wireless this week announced that, starting tomorrow, it will allow Allset prepaid customers to use 4G LTE phones and the faster LTE network, as well as mobile hotspot features to share the LTE connection with other devices. Previously, Verizon prepaid customers could only use the CDMA network, which is much slower for data.
Sprint Doubles LTE Plus Footprint
Sprint today said it has doubled the availability of its LTE Plus coverage from 77 markets in November to more than 150 markets today. Some of the new markets include Boulder, Colo., West Palm Beach, Fla., Cleveland, Ohio, and Syracuse, N.Y.

Verizon Wireless elaborated today on news it has begun to refarm its PCS spectrum for LTE. Verizon has already deployed LTE on its PCS spectrum in a limited scale across Manhattan and Cleveland, Ohio, with "about 10 other markets" currently in testing.
