Virgin's payLo Drops Unlimited Voice & Text Plan Down to $40
Virgin Mobile USA's payLo pre-paid service today announced a new plan that offers unlimited voice minutes, unlimited messages, and 50MB of data for $40 per month. The new plan is compatible with a number of payLo's feature phones, which are available from the payLo web site. payLo also offers 1500 minutes/messages and 30MB of data for $30 per month; and 400 voice minutes for $20 per month (messages costs $0.15 each, data costs $1.50 per megabyte).
RingPlus To Offer Free Phone Service
RingPlus today announced a new mobile phone service plan that is ad-supported, but completely free to the customer. The ads take the form of ringback tones, which RingPlus customers hear on outbound voice calls, after dialing but before the other party picks up.
Sprint Cuts PayLo and Broadband2Go Amidst Virgin Shakeup
Sprint is today discontinuing its PayLo and Broadband2Go sub-brands, which were operated through Virgin Mobile. The move comes mere days after Sprint said it was "de-emphasizing" the Virgin brand.
Verizon Changes Up Prepaid Plans
Verizon Wireless today announced changes to its prepaid service plans. The entry-level plan includes unlimited talk and text, but no data (WiFi only) for $30 per month.
MetroPCS Adds Cuba to World Calling Plan
MetroPCS today added Cuba to the list of countries included in the MetroPCs World Calling add-on plan. The add-on, which costs $10 per month, now offers 20 minutes of calling to landlines or mobile devices in Cuba and unlimited texting to Cuba at no extra charge.
