Verizon to Kill Grandfathered Unlimited Plans
Updated: Edited for redundancy
Verizon Wireless CFO Fran Shammo said that the company plans to move all 3G customers with grandfathered unlimited data plans to its new shared data plans when they become available. Verizon will introduce its shared data plans later this summer, though pricing has yet to be discussed. Shammo said that as 3G customers with $30 monthly unlimited plans upgrade to 4G plans, they will have to sign up for the shared data plans. Verizon hopes this will help boost the adoption of multiple devices. "If I can add as many devices as I want, that is more efficient from a family perspective and a small business perspective," said Shammo. AT&T is also preparing to launch shared data plans later this year.

Guess I'd better...
Scummiest thing I've ever heard of in the wireless industry! Hello Sprint!!!
Verizon doesn't honor their end of contract
"A lot of our 3G base is on unlimited," Shamoo said. "When they migrate off 3G they will have to go to data share. That is beneficial to us." I guess you can't make it any clearer Shampoo. It's all about Veizon not the customer.
For the past two years Verizon has been sticking it to customers one way or another.
Why Are They Doing This?

If so, how long can Sprint hold out?
WHat if you already have 4G unlimited from the beginning on an individual account?
Also, even if they force us to a data share plan, who will I share it with? I am only one device and one account.
If that's the case I'm buying phones at cost.
I'd imagine you'll lose it at that point if they're making everyone switch...or you can switch providers... once your contract is over there i...
Verizon is turning out to be quite the b@stard
It's a little ambiguous
What about people with 4G phones, will they need to change to these data share plans, or do they get to keep unlimited?
So its when they upgrade.
Still, this MIGHT work out in my favor depending on the post of the shared data plan -- both my wife and I have ...
Lose unlimted to be part of family share
They're not going to let you "share" your unlimited data with other people on your account, so if you want to take advantage of the Family Share Data... then you probably are going to lose your unlimted plan
