First of Verizon's Rural Partners Launches LTE

Pioneer Cellular recently launched LTE 4G across six counties in Oklahoma. Pioneer is part of Verizon Wireless's LTE in Rural America program and is one of the first to get its own LTE network off the ground. In order to speed up the deployment of LTE 4G to rural areas, Verizon Wireless is leasing access to its 700 MHz spectrum to local providers such as Pioneer. Pioneer, and the other participants of the program, in turn build out their own LTE networks using Verizon's spectrum. Verizon has signed up about a dozen such partners, most of which have yet to build out their LTE networks.
