Spotify Offering Preview of Revamped Android App
Spotify recently made a new version of its Android application available for download via its web site. The new Spotify for Android app is a preview, and not a final build yet, but the application is 100% new. Spotify says the new version has been completely redesigned, supports Android 4.0, uses a new slide-out navigation panel, offers more social network integration, offers high-rez artist imagery, and is much faster. The preview must be downloaded directly from Spotify, and itsn't available in the Google Play Store.
Spotify's Android App Gains 'Running' Playlist
Spotify today updated its Android app with the Running playlist feature available to the iOS app since May. Spotify Running places an emphasis on discovering the songs that match tempo to the runner's pace.

Starbucks today expanded the scale of its mobile application to include Spotify-backed music discovery. People who visit Starbucks stores will be able to use the Starbucks mobile app to discover what songs are being played in-store and save those songs to a personal Spotify playlist.
Google Drops Android O Release Candidate
Google today made Android O Developer Preview 4 available to application developers and said this is the final preview before Google releases Android O to consumers later this year. This build contains the final user interface system behaviors, the latest bug fixes and optimizations, and the final set of APIs.
