Access today announced a new multimedia extension module for its latest embedded browser, NetFront v3.0. The new software contains a SMIL player, enabling the integration of text, image, voice, animation, and video. SMIL is used for advanced MMS messages. The multimedia extension also contains a Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) viewer, which supports the display of high-quality vector graphics at any size. The NetFront browser is used in a number of popular phones currently on the market. Access today also announced that Samsung and NEC will use the NetFront browser in upcoming i-Mode phones for Europe.
