Audiovox Announces New Color Clamshell

Audiovox today officially announced the CDM-8600, a tri-mode, folder-style CDMA phone with a 65,000-color TFT display. The compact phone sports a stylish circular external display with a blue backlight. Additional features include 1xRTT high-speed data, BREW or Java, 32-chord polyphonic ringtones, voice dialing, and EMS. The phone is being shown at CES today in Las Vegas, where the company is also showing the previously-announced CDM-9600, CDM-9500, and CDM-8500 handsets, and another new handset to be announced tomorrow.
Garmin Vivofit 4 has a Color Display and 1-Year Battery Life
Garmin today announced the Vivofit 4, a new activity-tracking wearable device that sports an always-on color display and battery life up to one year. The wrist-mounted, waterproof device performs all of the functions of a digital watch, including timer, stopwatch, and alarms, while counting steps and encouraging the wearer to stay mobile and active.
E Ink Reveals Full-Color ePaper Display
E Ink today announced Advanced Color ePaper (ACeP), which is a full-color reflective display. E Ink says this is the first time an electrophoretic display can produce color in every pixel without the use of a color filter array.
LG Touts the G7 ThinQ's 6.1-Inch Super Bright Display
LG says its forthcoming flagship will have a redesigned FullVision display that adds a number of new technologies. The screen measures 6.1 inches across the diagonal at a new aspect ratio of 19.5:9 to account for the additional screen real estate forming the notch.
Kyocera Flips Out Over LTE-Only Cadence Feature Phone for Verizon
Kyocera this week announced the Cadence, a flip phone for Verizon Wireless that supports LTE but not CDMA. In addition to LTE, the Cadence sports WiFi with voice over WiFi and HD Voice for clearer phone calls.
