for the Apple iPhone 5 (CDMA / global):
Major improvement over iPhone 4
I purchased my iPhone 5 as a replacement for my first iPhone 4. The iPhone 4 was a great phone but it lacked a few features including the turn by turn GPS, Siri, world phone capability, LTE speed, and screen size. For this reason, I upgraded to the iPhone 5 as soon as I was eligible with Verizon which has been my carrier for many years. If you have an iPhone 4S it may not be worth ...

The main weaknesses are it's price, battery, vibrator (not strong enough). Other than that, it's a great phone for someone willing to pony up the $250 or so dollars with a two year agreement.

for the Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood:
E815: A good choice although overpriced
I chose the E815 as a replacement for my LG 4600. In all respects, the E815 is a superior performer, IMHO. Main strenghts of the E815 include: 1. Signal strength in weak signal area-no dropped calls where the LG dropped frequently 2. Large high res screen. 3. Excellent speaker phone and audio 4. Superior voice recognition 5. Large easy to read keypad 6. Bluetooth, MP3 capability The main weaknesses include: 1. EVDO is default setting and drains battery. 2. Need to use test mode ...
