iPhone 3GS
I'm a phone and gadget guy. When the first iPhone came out, all my friends said the same thing - "So how do you like it?" I resisted, as the two most impotant things about a mobile phone, for me are: 1. Is it a good phone? 2. Has to have turn-by-turn navigation with voice. I've been on the AT&T network for forever, so the network wasn't an issue. I was using a Nokia E71 and an AT&T Tilt, ...
Sumsung Epux i907
This is a preliminary report. I've only had the phone for 4 days. So far, pretty good. I've been using a Tilt on AT&T, and the upgrade to WM 6.1 got rid of most of the irritating bugs, including dropping the bluetooth connection. I love the i907 "human interface", specially the one-handed operations. The trackpad mouse is great for navigating without the stylus. Here you go: Pros - - One handed operation (trackpad) - Seems to hold the ...
E71 - Next Step Up on the Nokia Evolutionary Chain
Having switched from Windows Mobile (Prophet, Trinity, Tilt) because of poor performance as a phone, I went to the E90 (great business tool, but large) and added the E51 for weekends. Nokia's "Mail for Exchange" application makes their business line useful for my e-mail needs. When the E71 specs were announced, it was a no-brainer for me. PROS: - Excellent reception (the key for me, as when all is said and done, it is first and foremost, a phone) - Size - ...
Nokia E90 Communicator
I've been using my e-90 on AT&T in the US for two weeks now. Previously tried a 9500 (abandoned because of poor coverage - no 850 GSM), and a Cingular branded 9300. For the past 5 years I've been using a string of forever-upgrading Windows Mobile devices. Our company is on an Exchange Server, and the e-mail, contacts, and calender syncing was great. However, very mediocre phones. The touchscreen, while great for some things, is terrible ...
AT&T Tilt
I recently (1 week ago) upgraded from the 8525 to the tilt. I also have the HTC 3600 that I used as my phone/GPS, but the phone functions did not work seamlessly on AT&T, so I got the 8525. The Tilt is a very nice incremental upgrade from the 8525, specially WM6 and GPS. Pros: 1. Windows Mobile 6 has a few great features such as the Task Manager Tab on the Today screen 2. Seems to be fairly stable, ...
The Competent 2125
I moved from the Audiovox 5600 on AT&T through a series of phones, looking for the perfect device for me. I went to a Nokia 9500, then to a Sony Ericsson 910a, and finally to an unlocked Qtek 9100 (HTC Wizard) pocket PC phone. The Wizard was a more data-centric device than the 5600, but I noticed I wasn't using it to surf the web, and rarely used the Wi/Fi. My primary non-phone needs are in e-mail, ...
Nokia 9500
I needed a data-centric phone, and I hoped the HP 6315 would do the trick. It soon became apparent that the disastrous 6315 wasn't going to cut it (and I'm an HP and Pocket-PC fan). I use an Audiovox 5600 on AT&T as my primary phone, but as a data device that allows me to leave my laptop behind on some travel, the 9500 is great. Being able to effectively respond to e-mails and find web-sites ...
