Great phone... however, it's going back tomorrow though! THIS GUY IS TOTALLY WRONG IGNORE HIS POST
The Browser has a separate setting for screen brightness. When in the browser the info button can access this setting. So if the phone is set to maximum brightness and the browser set to automatic brightness the default then the browser will be dimmer when started. The solution is simple and certainly no reason to return the phone.

Well I decided to try the iphone after waiting forever for verizon to have a iphone killer. I have the LG Dare. The phone isn't that bad. The push email is great and the phone is slick BUT at my house I have a very weak E signal, If I go outside I have a strong 3G signal. It's OK but better things are coming.
I got it today and have been playing with it. It is definitely NOT a iphone killer. The push to unlock button on the front is very annoying but maybe there is a way to shut it off. My biggest gripes and scrolling though the contact list just works poorly. And the side button does not move the contact list. Either the phone doesn't respond to my finger movement or it selects one when I just wanted to scroll. ...

for the LG VX-7000:
Disappointing
My 4400 allows the keyboard light to stay on when the flip is open. When the 6000 came out I bought it then returned it because the keylight would go out after a few seconds and there was no way to keep it on now LG continues this stupid practice with no keylight control. Overall this phone is not that much better than the 6000. I really want a speakerphone but the 4500 has such a crummy display when ...
