for the Sanyo Zio by Kyocera:
Zio good phone with bad keyboard
I have four Android phones (Droid 1, Droid X, Mytouch 3G) and the Zio. Good: - Speakerphone and earpiece. Good volume and clarity. - Reception is good (within 2-3 dBm of my Droid X and e815 on the Sprint network) - Display is good. It's bright and legible. Nowhere close to Droid X, but not bad. Bad: - Touch keyboard. Many times screen presses are missed. This makes the phone feel more sluggish than it really is - Calibration of the on ...

for the Kyocera X-tc M2000:
Poor Performance
The X-tc seemed promising but the cons simply make this a poor device. CONS: 1. Ear-piece volume is totally inadequate. It is not even close to usable. The speaker phone is ok but not great. 2. The RF/reception is poor, on par to the super slice. Granted the signal is not great where I am but my wild card (m1000) works fine where the X-tc is searching for service 50% of the time. 3. The dial-pad is integrated into the keyboard which is ...

for the BlackBerry 8703e:
Solid phone
Overall BB 8703e has been great. I use BIS on VZW. Pros: Has the best phone section of any of the PDAs I have tried or read about. Has worked great in very fringe areas (where my e815 worked but RAZR maxx ve did not). Earpiece volume is loud enough, speakerphone could be louder. That gives the phone 4 of 5 stars hands down. Sync with outlook great. Push e-mail is good, but be warned that only blackberry mail is instant. Other accounts ...

for the Nokia 2115i / 2116i / Shorty:
Shorty fair but not great
I have had the phone for about six months. It's been OK, but below my expectations for Nokia. Pros: Price is very good (free with airtime purchase although Virgin has since changed that to new accounts only) Size is good (small) Earpiece volume and clarity is good. Visibility in the sunlight is good Cons: RF is fair. Compared to the 2126, the 2115 has poorer reception. My previous Slider v5 and P8767, both operating on Sprint, outperformed the RF on this phone. I live in ...

for the Motorola RAZR maxx Ve:
Disappointing RF
Swapped in from the e815. So comparison is to that. PROS: Camera is good Screen is good Sound quality is good Ringer sound is ok (cranked up the gain on mp3s) Speakerphone is good Earpiece is ok (why oh why can't we have a LOUD earpiece?) CONS: RF is average at best. Far below the superior e815. Could not even acquire a signal when the e815 was doing fine. Only the T720 was worse. Battery life is horrible. Replacing battery to see if that helps. Verizon ...

for the Siemens S56:
Good RF but poor sound
I picked up this phone because of its good RF and 800 MHz capability. I picked up this unlocked AT&T branded phone on e-Bay. Currently using phone on T-Mobile in southern NH. Have used on AT&T. Will probably use on Cingular at some point. Phone lives up to its RF reviews - I could hold calls where others could not. Also use for field test mode - one of a small handful that have that capability at 800 ...

for the Motorola v60i (TDMA) / v60ti:
The only TDMA flip phone
Bought this phone to use on CallPlus prepaid, which uses the AT&T TDMA network, in Southern NH. This is the only TDMA flip, so it was a no brainer to get it. RF ability does not measure up to my Nokia 6160. Pros: ===== Only TDMA flip phone Fits in pocket easily Removable covers - I have the smallest one RF okay/good on 1900 MHz TDMA Sound quality is fine (but could be louder) Addressbook okay, plenty of space. Cons: ===== RF poor on analog RF fair on 800 MHz TDMA Bottom ...
