Re: If it is a Galaxy S4
Too bad this probably will not support wifi calling on tmobile....
So Occupy is now a Consumer Watchdog group?
Someone needs to put this dog to sleep.....
Shweeeet....... Still has that Touchwiz camera handicap though
Awesome improvement in every way but the inability to initiate the camera during a phone call is as iritating as ever....
What kind of speakers are on this thing?
Re: Motorola also
These pending updates were when the Google acquisition was still in the works but it seems like Motorola kept its autonomy and is continuing business as usual. It seems to me like Google may be trying to follow Apple's business model with its Motorola line while appealing to the developers community with its Nexus line.
Re: Motorola also
ditto that......with such a wonderful track record whatever they say in regards to upgrading is worthless. Keeping a death grip on bootloaders is even more promising.
The last paragraph is what i hope will happen. I left att for their take it or leave it attitude and didn't bother looking into verizon just because they're just as ridiculously overpriced. 80 billion is a lot and it shows how much of a sure bet they're banking on this acquisition. Asian consumers put up with a lot less crap then we Americans do and that's why they define true quality of service. I know their network will ...
Re: Will Sprint change their name again?
Re: Sprint's makin' a big come back
It was nice to see Sprint acheive what they did with Dan Hesse but I have mixed feelings about it being owned by a foreign corporation. Nothing more than wishing it could've stayed American owned.
Re: Why not just put a fork into Motorola
I still have my Atrix 4G and I do thoroughly enjoy it. I really anticipated the ICS upgrade to keep this phone for a little while longer or at least to get the drivers so the developer community could bring full functionality to ICS based ROMs. My gripe is that it's one thing to say there's no update, end of conversation right? However, to say the update is definitely coming and all of a sudden cancel it with no ...
Re: Compared to what?
"...The authors of the report said that both companies were reluctant to hand over key documents about their relationships with the Chinese government. The authors also said they received "credible allegations" that suggested Huawei is guilty of bribery, corruption, discriminatory behavior, and other malfeasance." Although this sounds like big business in general, quite frankly I'd rather be spied on by my own country rather than communist China. Why and how we got to this is another pile of steaming political ...
Re: Why not just put a fork into Motorola
I was pretty ticked when they led everyone on with the 'imminent' ICS update for the Atrix 4G only to cancel it all if a sudden last week..... Seriously WTF? I will never buy another Motorola product that's for sure.
I think it has to do with the maintenance and upkeep for the towers. All of the carriers employ contractors to do the tower work for them so it probably is less of a headache. Many big corporations also setup smaller companies for products/services that they would otherwise outsource to a third party, this happens all the time in heavy construction as far as I've seen. This would be kind of shady if this was all done under the ...
Re: just something else to be worried about
How are FaceTime sessions charged? Do they show up as a separate data amounts?
Don't know what's involved but my hats off to tower workers!
Check this out! http://youtu.be/yCYZZPwJr_c
Where there's a will there's a way.....
I wouldn't hold my breath until I see the actual bootloader unlocked....unfortunately Moto has been using this to lure customers for years. I thought Google acquiring Moto would be a positive step in this direction but that will remain to be seen. Google search Photon sim unlock and DIY.
What are all the mall rats using nowadays?
This was THE device back in the day!
Thanks for the free press Apple!
All of Apple's courtroom pursuits may unwittingly work against them. Now let me see them iphone 5 specs!!!!
Re: Can't decide
Because T-mobile is simply way too late to the game by bringing this only now. Why launch a device that already has its successor launching in a few short months? Feature and performance wise, the S3 is simply a better device. Now the Note 2 should be an amazing device and riding on the success of the S3 this should not disappoint. It just cracks me up to see girls with small faces holding up what looks like ...
Re: Local pride
I'm sure there was a significant import tariff that may also have priced HTC a little higher as well. Go to Korea and see how nearly every car on the road is Korean made as well as all nearly all of the consumer electronics and appliances used by the population. National pride runs deep and that's the way it should be. I still drive american made cars and always try to buy american made products first but it really ...
Re: I totally agree with you on this one.
On top of the deathgrip they have on bootloaders for everything after the RAZR and this they new better than to put webtop/lapdock because their consumers really don't want it? Thanks but no thanks.....
Re: I'm not interested in PTT, Therefore, nobody else is
If you've ever tried 'real' PTT you would realize how powerful and efficient it truly is. When we are out in the field It's instant communication and IMO allows true simultaneous multitasking, It's like virtually being within earshot of everyone. You can be on the job hammering away and receive verbal communication at the same time and if you need to respond all you need is to hit the PTT button. You don't have to drop everything, pull off ...
Re: I love you Sprint.....but....
Let's not forget that this phone already launched globally and I gotta say that with the Iphone5 timing they have simply been overwhelmed with the insane demand for this device......guess we'll just have to wait....and wait after waiting.....
Radiation surealy decreased
Remember the original Nokia 5100 series bar phone that everyone and their uncle had? When I was driving I knew a call was coming before my phone even rang because the radio would start buzzing and whirring. I always thought that putting that thing to my head can't be good but at the time they didn't even come with headsets and speakerphone features were unheard of. I agree that there should be limits as to the level of radiation ...
Re: Now what will the drug dealers and pimps do?
Funny.....most drug detail officers leave these radios on scan and they pick up idiots all the time....
Why should they care? They'll end up making it in the end
They manufacture the world's electronics and I'm certain they could care less who owns what....they'll produce them...clone them.....'share' the intellectual property....and watch the US dollars come in by the boatloads....
Re: This includes their 4G access?
Like Borat said".....It's a nice....."
This includes their 4G access?
I've heard that Simple Mobile does not perform nearly as well as having service directly from T-Mobile. Maybe now i won't have to tether my tablet.....
Verizon is turning out to be quite the b@stard
I hope they shove this down the throat of some Senator or FCC chairperson and see how their spectrum proceedings move along. Man.....I wonder how valid their double data promotions are going to be with this attitude....Guess I'll sit back and wait for the inevitable class action lawsuit and then the see the fallout and what ultimately becomes of this.
Re: Everyone should watch and learn
No. They just do what they say they're going to do. At&t is always touting tower upgrades and infrastructure improvements but they rarely deliver anything noticeable to our area. At least T-Mobile's high speed network delivers when there is coverage. I may have to just cough up the extra dough and join Verizon who deployed LTE here many months ago
Everyone should watch and learn
Gotta give credit to Verizon for at leasting walking the talk. You get what you pay for at the very least.
Are they already converted to 1x Advanced? This will be a decision maker for me come October.....Will 1x Advanced allow simultaneous data/talk as well?
Re: WHAT Costs Will Be Increased?
Everyone is under the impression that the wireless carriers intentionally lose money by selling phones at a loss to customers in the hopes of making their money back in their service charges in the months to come. I think bit off more than they could chew in their Iphone deal but that's something else.... Anyways, I doubt they lose one red cent if it's a single transaction and the customer stays for the duration of their contract. I can ...
Re: WHAT Costs Will Be Increased?
Anyone in retail knows that msrp is bs. No retailer buys anything near the msrp and in most cases sells you their 'discounted' price. You really think car dealers buy their cars from manufacturers at the window msrp? If you bought your last car at the stickered msrp and thought you got a deal you sir just made the dealer a lot of money. This upgrade price increase is riding on the coat tails of their justified data throttling ...
Re: At&t deceptive pricing – unlimited extra $100 for the phone
I too was contemplating the international one but was wondering if the chipset is going to cause significant issues with our networks here.
This is why HTC rocks!
They are much more consumer oriented in the way they unlocked bootloaders and now at least giving a timeline in their planned ICS roll out. Motorola understandably has their reasons but can they really be justified in light of what HTC is doing?
2013 is the return of the Cargo Pant
To hold these 5+ inch phones. Forget about belt clips for this thing, my atrix is already too big for my belt clip. At least this phone will offset my big head!
Re: What the "Top 5%" translates to...
I too got this message with 500 mb left. Of course i got flamed by all the att fanboys as a liar sooooo here we are. The whole top 5% is a pile of crap people. Anyone on their network is fair game. It seems like at&t it's really stepping up their game in monitoring data usage and trying to catch those tethering without their plan.
I always paid the most for Nextel iDen service because it was the best sounding and solidly performing cell network. I loved how it always sounded like I was on a land line and I could get a signal throughout the mountains and quite far off shore when fishing. I've had At&t business service for 15+ years and I'll be the first to admit that as soon as they switched from TDMA to GSM, the quality of their cell ...
