Re: Gzone type V... Is A Beast!
I like being able to put it on speakerphone, then drop it in the urinal and pee on it while I'm talking to my "peeps".
"what's that sound"
oh that's me urinating on you.
buy two
my clip lasted less than a month, the upper arm that wraps around the phone folded in half. just ordered two replacements, at under $10 it's not a bad thing.
Re: Gz'One type V owners..
damn, I couldn't get my battery off, I had to pry it out, I think when I dropped it in beer the other night some of it got behind the battery and stuck it together...seals are only around the contacts.
Re: Gz'One type V owners..
that battery is the same 1050mah that came with my phone...haven't seen a higher amphr batt than this.
Re: Gz'One type V owners..
pretty weak! I would say if I talk and text a fair amount I get 24hrs. Over the years I've gotten in the habit of dropping it in the charger every night. Once a month i'll run the battery down.
The Gzone is my only phone, I don't have a landline anymore, so I have a car charger and charger at the office. It's when you need the thing most, when you're making 100 calls when ...
oh gunny, this things a hoot
I'm not a phone guy. I buy one, I use it for two years, I buy another. This is the best feeling phone I've had. It's heavy, feels like a real phone! The earpiece audio is different sounding, not tinny or static-ey, but different than the MOT.
It came without a clip, so it was sitting on my desk when a few coworkers came by. "that's the ugliest phone I've ever seen, what's with this handle ...
ringtones...
You have to buy ringtones from them, they give you voice recording capabilities, and music playing capabilities, but they won't let you convert these to tones without hacking the phone?
I jumped, I couldn't wait
Rumors of pricing over $300 had me jump on the type-V for free. I have bluetooth on my mot710, and I have a memory upgrade and I never use either. Not enough to validate $300 anyway.
I found by accident that my employer is included in the verizon b2b discount program, got a 6% discount on my bill and a free gizone.
just hope the signal strength is as good as the 710...vzw is my only phoneline!
Re: the size sorta puts me off
the KRZR was just too flimsy for me, I don't need a phone that plays music. I look at my ol 710 and it's beat to hell, and I know the krzr would break the second time I dropped it.
I don't need a piece of jewelry, I need a phone that will stand up to popping out of it's holster every other day, as the mot710 was want to do.
The g'zone looks durable, I like the heft, ...
Sooner than you think, another price drop
Verizonwireless.com now gives this away with a two-yr activation in my zipcode.
In my local store it's still $199. I returned my krzr and told the manager I wanted the g'zone for free and he said he couldn't match the price. He also said a premium phone being blown out meant a new version was very close.
He expected his in-store price to drop very soon, and that a new version would debut online before hitting stores.
