Re: But not before "stupid Verizon" comments!
BREW is only in regards to dumbphones anyways. It wont touch PDAs.
Re: Just another boring dumb phone
I agree that a phone like this or especially a PDA is pointless without a data plan, but to each their own.
But at least the data plan on this is half the price of a bberry/PDA data plan.
Re: Just another boring dumb phone
This phone is now the #1 selling phone at VZW by a huge margin.
Perfect for those who want a nice touchscreen phone with a solid camera but dont want to be forced into a data plan or want a cheaper data plan than those found on a bberry/PDA.
Re: What's CDMA??
Did you see my map? It shows OKC as full 3G coverage for VZW, and has been for months. Either your friends do not have 3G phones, tried to do this stuff pre-Alltel buyout, or you are making stuff up again. I am leaning towards the latter.
As of right now, I can go to OKC with my VZW branded BB Storm and surf the web at 3G speeds no problem.
Besides. OKC is only once city, there are A ...
Re: HAHAHAHAHAHA
CDMA is the way to go if you want the best coverage in north America, especially the US.
Ya know, less than 5% of Americans travel internationally so this whole "worldwide" stuff really is irrelevant to a lot of people.
Re: What's CDMA??
Once the VZW purchase of Alltel was complete back in January VZW customers were able to roam off Alltel's 3G network there as of February. Just because there are no VZW stores there doesnt mean there isn't 3G coverage for VZW customers, because there has been for a few months now.
So once again, stop pulling lies out of your ass and get your facts strait.
Re: HAHAHAHAHAHA
Yes, and CDMA 3G currently has WAAAAAAY more coverage than GSM 3G in the US and it aint even close. Did you not see the map?
Re: They Can add Phoenix
Not just Phoenix but AT&T 3G coverage sucks in the whole state of Arizona and the entire Southwest US.
Check it out: http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l217/DStahz z99/vzwPWNSatt.jpg
FACT
Since THEY DAY IT LAUNCHED the VZW Blackberry Storm had UNLOCKED GPS out of the box.
As much as you wish it wasn't true, it is.
Posting lies on the internet to make a company look bad is pretty childish. You should probably stop before you make yourself look even more foolish.
Re: What's CDMA??
VZW has had 3G in Oklahoma City since April, you can stop the charade now and stop making up crap on the internet.
http://i97.photobucket.com/album s/l217/DStahzz99/VZWreallyPWNSatt.jpg
VZ W's CDMA 3G coverage absolutely DEMOLISHES your precious AT&T and their GSM 3G coverage
HAHAHAHAHAHA
You seriously believe AT&T has the largest 3G coverage in the US?
VZW has WAY more than AT&T and IT'S NOT EVEN CLOSE
http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l2 17/DStahzz99/VZWreallyPWNSatt.jpg
Paste that into your browser and take a look at reality.
possibly
one of the dumbest posts I've seen on phonscoop in a while.
It's too bad their isn't a shred of truth to that or maybe, and I mean just maybe, your post wouldn't be pointless.
These "robo-dialers" don't use and don't need customer info, they auto dial numbers.
Dumbass.
Re: Great Phone!!
What exactly is "crippled" by the VZW UI?
If there are features "crippled" on this phone, it has NOTHING to do with the UI.
Re: "LTE can be born with this theory people listen and read this amazing theory"
The AT&T "labatories" must have very low standards if they hire people who absolutely butcher the written English language like TheSinister /;|
Re: VZW post paid customers
Because we all know Sprint/ATT/T-Mobile are noble companies who are literally giving away their service
By the way, look up what Sprint charges for call forwading. Makes having an awesome feature like youmail impossible. Free with VZW (and everyone else except Sprint).
Re: So for 111.72 a month
You conveniently left out pay only on the days you use it. So for some, this is NOT $111.72 a month.
Is this still the best deal around for everyone? Of course not, but it's a good deal for some for sure.
Re: Hmmm...
I mean God forbid a company is ever allowed to train their employees to sell their product... how awful of VZW!
Re: The new carrier name once NII buys the iDen network..
Someone has some REALLY thin skin to find that offensive
Re: FYI
Yes you can download songs for $1.99 OTA but songs through Rhapsody are NOT OTA, those you have to download on your PC and sync with your phone though the computer.
Re: Copies!?!?
Would you sprint fanboys stop comparing EVERYTHING to your hard to get and non concsumer SERO plans? It is NOT an apple to apple comparison, for the love of God. You can't walk into a Sprint store and sign up for SERO, so therefore you are retarded to compare it to these plans. Heck I know folks who get bad ass discounts for working for VZW and AT&T, I guess they should brag how their employee plans are so ...
Re: Good!
Word, California's "tax on full retail" law is R-E-T-A-R-D-E-D.
Taxes in general are retarded as well. The fewer, the better.
Re: Who the **** were they?
the idea was retarded because they chose to do business with verizon and the business went belly up.
No, that's not it all all. They went belly up because nobody was signing up for their "make your own MVNO" service. Nice try injecting your VZW hate somewhere it doesn't belong.
Re: Was just on my way to buy the Voyager and...
Well do you want a touchscreen or not? Do you want a full HTML browser or not?
Those questions should help you decide which of the 2 phones you really want.
How about transitioning away from BREW all together?
I love the service VZW but my God, it's time to kick Qualcomm's BREW software to the curb and go with some JAVA... please!
Re: how about 3g at my house for starters!
VZW has Rev A all the way in Queen Creek and Apache Junction, not to mention a hundred other non PHX metro towns in AZ that AT&T doesn't offer 3G in.
Re: Good
I wonder if VZW if losing customers like it's going out of style like Sprint... oh wait, they're not.
Btw, that debt you refer to is the debt solely of Verizon Communications, Verizon Wireless (you know, the one that does cell phones, not land lines and is a privately owned company) has no such debt.
Re: Get-It-Now aka Pay-Us-Now Software also needs to go
Or... *GASP* he could actually be 100% correct in that the UI itself does not "cripple" the phone. VZW could leave the manufactured UI on there and still cripple phones if they wanted to, so it's retarded to blame the what few VZW phones that are still "crippled" on the VZW UI.
That's called being objective btw, it required no VZW kool-aid to process that thought.
Re: hmmm... I dunno... not "open" for individual CUSTOMERS...
You're actually complaining about something 100x better than being able to bring a Sprint phone to VZW? /;|
And just because the focus was opening the network to phone and app developers, no where did VZW say they still wont allow unlocked CDMA phones from other carriers.
Your rant was 100% pointless.
Re: The lightbulb in the attic finally turns on...too late?
Nothing wrong with Sprint's customer service eh?
The what, pray tell, is cause Sprint to LOSE customers every quarter?
I'd hit it
Sure she's no supermodel, and she's nothing you'd brag to the guys about... but hey, she looks good enough for a romp 8)
Re: Why would VZW be desperate?
Thanks, you're sweet
But as much as I have posted here... I totally don't remember when or to what I said that quote about... whatev.
Btw, calling me a fanby doesn't make what I say any less true
Re: ha, verizon
If you're gonna lay the smack on VZW at least know what you are talking about.
With VZW's new any handset/any application initiate, it would be IMPOSSIBLE for them to cripple anything since THE CONSUMER will be the one getting the open handsets and adding the application.
If VZW does provie an adriod handset there would be nothing in it for them to cripple since consumers can bypass VZW and get uncippled ones if they wanted.
Why would VZW be desperate?
That doesn't make sense. VZW isn't desperate. They are right up there with AT&T in net adds, have the lowest churn and highest revenue in the industry.
Re: no-go on the Q9m Verizon
I know, I tried it on a Q9m. Lemme guess, it defaults on San Francisco? This is just a beta version, I am sure google will work up something that will work with any WM6 device.
Re: BB Pearl works fine
Hmm, seems when I move over 20 yards and ask it to locate me again it gets my location even more accurately and the circle's range decreases to 1700 meters. Overall I'd say it's a decent substitute to GPS.
Re: BB Pearl works fine
Well it gives me a circle with a dot in he middle and says approx range within 5000 meters, however I am maybe a block or two away from the dot in the middle even though the circle is huge.
Re: BB Pearl works fine
It's pretty darn close to my exact location here in the Phoenix suburbs. I am using a VZW BBerry 8830.
Re: Pretty sweet
Works great with my BBerry 8830 with VZW. I live in the Phoenix suburbs and it gets my location within a few blocks easy.
Re: I want.
Dude $200 for this is a bargain. The old a990 was $350 on a 2 yr 8O
Re: Good to know
VZW's roaming rates are actually better than AT&T's and T-Mobile's.
But yes, while a local SIM would be cheaper you do not get to have the same phone number.
