If you can find a Cingy Corp Store they may have them this week. I called a few in Atlanta and they said could be delivered Saturday or Monday.

Re: Is the N75 a "smartphone"
May 3, 2007, 11:46 PM
in the Nokia N75 forum

Maybe I can answer that I have a smartphone and Media Net and it works fine NP what so ever I think they say this is a Music phone but who cares what they call it it is just another billing option.

Re: 3G Sim
Apr 29, 2007, 8:15 AM
in the Nokia N75 forum

The new 3G Sim from Cingy is more secure that is why they want to get the sim in as many phones as they can. It is harder to clone, and they can limit you doing things not being paid for, or that is the way I have understood the explaination. But Cingy will not share that and most CSR's have no idea. Cingy have been shipping 3G cards for 3 years if you look on the card both sides ...

Re: Blackjack or Pearl here I come???
Apr 28, 2007, 7:55 PM
in the Nokia N75 forum

I am like you I look for the Smartphone functions, I have waited for so long on this phone I think I may as well wait a little longer to try it. But that price for a music phone does not cut it for me and I am a huge Nokia fan. The blackjack 3G is way faster and the pearl very cool but only edge. The 8525 you refered too is HTC the same company that makes ...

Re: Can the N75 be used as a modem?
Apr 28, 2007, 7:48 PM
in the Nokia N75 forum

If the N75 does not work and you want to tether you should get the Blackjack or a 3G phone. Speed baby Speed 3G runs on 1.8 Meg While the Pearl is Edge and Runs 250k does not compare. The N75 3g runs around 380k but for some reason it feels faster.

Re: How do you unlock a phone?
Apr 27, 2007, 10:28 PM
in the Nokia N75 forum

The detail requires you have the software to flash the phone or the software to generate the code to unlock the phone without taking it to a dealer. I have unlocked many phones a flashed them. It is not hard but you need the right equipment and software to get it done. I have equipmennt to flash adn unlock phones but not seen it on N75 or N95 yet I have the N70 and 73 software. The ...

Apr 27, 2007, 9:36 PM

The major carriers worldwide place a SIM Lock on the phone this makes the phones limited to use that carriers network only. When unlocking the 2 options are just to unlock the Sim so you can use any carrier card but all the software remains the same. The other is to Flash new software that can rebrand a phone say take a T-Mobile branded phone and Brand it Cingy, well all but the stickers. Unlocking the Sim can be done ...

Why I never noticed before taht the Nokai site keeps refering to Cingy 3G, Video, Music, etc. I really think this is heading to town more than ever.

Maybe we will see this on the 25th or so at Cingy online. Why would they keep putting these webpages up then taking them down unless they have a release then cancel at the last minute. My guess within a few weeks we will all be happy and talking of the wonders of the N75 but then we will all be discussing where to get the thing unlocked or flashed to get the good software from Nokia.

My guess on Nokia release with restrictions.
Apr 18, 2007, 2:08 PM
in the Nokia N75 forum

As this phone is going to be released for Cingy only to start with, I would imagine a clause that would prohibit release prior to the Cingy release. Once out I would imagine Nokia can release the full version but also at the full price.

Maybe a loose date for delivery and a glimmer of hope.
Apr 18, 2007, 1:21 PM

Managed to chat with one of the guys I trust today and he looked things up in the system and then made a few calls for me on the release. The comment was the phone was due to be released last week. Again it was delayed they have an internal order date for for the stores of April 24th that puts it in the stores a week or two later. He expects to get an internal notification no ...

Apr 17, 2007, 3:24 PM

The pearl also has Nine pages and it obviously is released. I believe the Red is AT&T and the Black has been Cingy. I have done many Corp buy outs and restructures. Never have I had a date so soon after the take over to have everything changed over. Simple things like letter head business cards or a slop of paint and the Logo on the side of the building. Vehicle logos can be covered with ...

That is just a software flash really simple to fix. I can and have flashed phones to add Cingy, T-Mobile, Rogers etc and also removed the software to make it unbranded. I would imagine if it were anything it is the Box and Cover. Again I would not imagine they go through a major expense on Rebranding when they are already selling Cingy Phones and the Stores Say Cingy on the outside etc. With the phone being added to ...

Re: BAD NEWS ReBranding Deadline Today, N75 HELD BACK
Apr 16, 2007, 4:37 PM
in the Nokia N75 forum

That sounds great and a reasonable reason But why would they have not released the Cingy branded phones earlier, if that was the only thing holding the release up and today was the deadline then why not release early and get some on the market then rebrand for today so tomorrow they are AT&T. The other thing is if the phone was returned for rebranding then we may see the AT&T one tomorrow "I hope" although I have been told ...

User Guide answers lots of Q's
Apr 16, 2007, 2:12 PM
in the Nokia N75 forum

Reading over the User Guide it gives lots of great info on the phone and operation for Cingy. The one Q is on Data it list Media Net and also Cingular TV that would indicate the $20.00 data plan. The guide is also branded Cingular looking at some other guides they are not standard, Blackberry and V3xx are Cingy and Treo 750 is AT&T. Not sure if that means much to a release.

Well not the best of word on a release date but it is something. Talking to a Cingy back office person today and was told the N75 is planned for a release 2nd qtr and they should be able to order. They can NOT order it right now for the store but that does not mean it will not be available on Cingular.Com first then stores later. I just wanted to clarify the comments with the IPhone release ...

Funny the Nokia experience in Atlanta had a phone to play with for a while and they said it was getting released by Cingy. I think you always have to take it with a pinch of salt. But Atlanta knows and Chicago does not? Odd huh.

Don't quote me on this where Cingy Data is concerned but this is the way I understand it and I use smartphones. I pay $20 p/m roughly Cingy considers phones with a keypad a PDA device, phones that are a phone with internet capability are considered smartphones eg 2125, 3125. The theory is that you would use less data and not do emails and web browsing as much. If you tether a device the rates are the same PDA ...

I said the one I got to play with was very nice indeed. It does have more features than the one I saw but then again I really just wanted to play and did not have that long to really look it over. But I really do hope we see it this week better still if it is on Sunday I know I will place my order. I will also eat humble pie gladly if it is Sunday.

OK so now the N75 has a link for a case on the Cingy site. But I can’t get to that link through the Cingular site with scroll downs or search or anything else just the link posted? I am very perplexed. The phone is also listed on the Cingular Xtras website but when you click the link it disappears, Maybe that is it the phone is an illusion. It showed up on 2 of Nokias sites ...

Well after seeing the Nokia Website I made a few calls and here is what I was told today. The N75 Release is in May it does not have a release date yet but it had been scheduled as a May release. (That does make a little sense why it is on the rebate form now as it covers April and May) I hope that is wrong. Although a reseller I have used says he will ...

A key licensing agreement between the world's number one mobile handset maker Nokia and mobile giant Qualcomm, which has prompted a bitter court battle between the two, has expired this week. The agreement, under which Nokia licensed patents pertaining to the CDMA and WCDMA mobile standard, has been the subject of protracted legal wrangling between the two. The licensing deal officially ran out on 9 April. Qualcomm has now filed an arbitration demand with the American Arbitration Association, claiming Nokia's continued ...

This was the same situation as the N95 and last week the N80 my guess now would be expect the phone within 14 days. They may just be getting the phone stocked and ready. Both those phones are now available. I think this changed last night.

Re: CAN YOU CALL GOD ON THE N75?
Apr 12, 2007, 9:49 AM
in the Nokia N75 forum

It may take an act of God to get this phone out at this rate. My guess would be soon but how soon is the question? I was told Cingy can test phones for up to a year before they release or not. The point is Cingy has the N75 on the rebates but not the Iphone which is scheduled for the June release date. The phone is like the Scarlet Pimpernel they seek him here they ...

Joseph as you seem to be eluding you are in the know. What are the other phones scheduled to be released this year with Cingy and when? I have played with the N75 and I would not call it Very Very Fast. It is quicker than some but not that quick and it is a nice phone. What about the 6110 Navigator? And why not release the N95?

Why would Cingy set a release date on Sunday?
Apr 11, 2007, 9:42 PM

Not doubting the phone is coming out soon I was told last month within a month that would be up this week. But why would the release date be set for Sunday? Any weekend date really would be very unusual.

Iam a traveler to Europe often, and live in the US. All was somewhat fine if you got a quadband phone prior to 3G the US has the 850 band for Voice (GSM Incl Edge) and also 900, 1800 and 1900. Most or the world uses the last 3 and is now using 2100 for 3G (UMTS or WCDMA) Data only. The problem in the US the 2100 wave length is a military frequency so for ...

Maybe I just want what I know is available elsewhere. But I am a loyal Cingy customer had the service for 10 years and many phone lines and normally get a new phone every 9-12 months as I burn the mout with use. I rarley have a contract and normally buy the phones outright. Although this time I think I am using the contract upgrade. Will never change from Cingy although in Europe I use ...

Maybe this sheds news on Patent deal
Apr 5, 2007, 2:27 PM
in the Nokia N75 forum

I did read somewhere the royalty was 4% of the unit sales price for the deal that was eluded too. Not sure how accurate that is but I see why a shorter term agreement would be favorable. After the Bell Chat. Nokia Corp. (NYSE: NOK) said it has paid Qualcomm, Inc. (NASDAQ: QCOM) $20 million for the use of third-generation patent licenses in the second quarter. The companies are also in the midst of negotiations over the renewal of a major ...

Not really Cingy released the V3xx with minimal fuss. The 6126 had no announcements, just showed up. If you go to most stores the reps will tell you they often do not know of a release until it arrives. In fact I had my V3xx before my local store and I was returning it before they even had a working store model for display. I also think the stores have to order the phones and some are reluctant to ...

The N75 competition may be on its way?
Apr 3, 2007, 11:47 AM
in the Nokia N75 forum

I said earlier that if the N75 is not out soon then I may have to look elsewhere for my needs. Well the N75 competition may be on its way. I had mentioned before Cingy had new HTC phones approved and coming, well it could be the successor to the 3125 flip. While not as stable as the Symbian OS it may still fill all the needs I am looking for. 3G surfing HSDPA, Pop3 ...

I took my V3xx as an upgrade and then returned it they reinstated my upgrade within a week. But the store asked if I wanted to get a different phone right away. I did not. You can always buy the phones with no contract then return them and get a full refund each time. For me it may be a little different as I have business linked accounts so I have other advantages an example would be ...

Who made you the expert? Does reviewing a phone make you an expert, I read your reviews great insight not! If you think I am an idiot then reviewing a phone would not make any difference then would it. Own a Nokia well YES E61. I also own a Treo, 3 Rzrs, NEC , 2 HTC 2125/Tornado smartphones, I had a V3xx (Returned it) and a couple of Samsungs. Funny I have owned countless other phones and returned ...

What about all the other Nokia phones with WCDMA. If that is true then Nokia have a huge mountain to climb as most of the nokia phones use WCDMA. Doubt that would have been the reason deals are done late all the time in business. If so then it would have been released earlier to join the other phones with WCDMA and Grandfather it.
