Sorry, I don't come around too often because there are just too many immature arguments around here due to there being to moderating going on. I happen to have locations in different markets, it's interesting to see the differences in compensation. One market, i get comp on existing features, the other i do not. But one thing that is the same is there is only one pay structure for upgrades and activations. Which is bad for ...

Haha, seems to be a mix up. I thought, from reading your response I got that there might be a program to where we direct ship iPhones' to customers instead of keeping them in stock. If that were the case, I would be highly pissed off about it.

Personally, i'd rather have 3G everywhere albeit slightly slower, over 3G only in the cities I work and visit that are much faster. I realize it costs more to upg to 3G for GSM/UMTS but its still something I desire.

Is this in regards to a direct fulfillment program? Or just commenting about not being able to sell the iPhone until after the holidays? I'm curious to know, as I am a principal myself.

Hahahaha, what a moronic statement. Yes, its all Andy's fault there are some upset iPhone customers. Oh, and where did you get that million number? Yea...just a guess...dont post incorrect info. And, if by chance, I'm wrong, please post an article stating the number. kthxbai

Re: Weekend with AT&T

Lemme correct this, bc you sir, are wrong. AT&T added 1.4 million customers. AT&T iPhone activations totaled more than 2.4 million, with more than a third of those activations for customers who were new to AT&T. So, given that statement, we'll say 35% were new customers. 2.4 million x .35 = 840,000. Which leaves 560,000 customers new to AT&T which purchased a phone other then the iPhone. Currently there are approx 10.4 million iPhones ...

But its illogical to think that all those iPhone adds would defect to the carrier who has the iPhone. Many would just chose a completely different phone so the difference would not be as great as you say it could be. I'm an agent and I get people wanting the iPhone daily, and we sucessfully persuade them to chose a different phone everyday.

Yes, bc AT&T is in the business to just break even. I've never seen anyone trash a carrier so much. It might have some effect if what you actually said, was true. But hardly any of it, ever is! AT&T loses a bunch on the subsidy of the phone as well as the acquisition costs of getting new customers in the door. But over the course of the 2 year contract, and then some, ...

Re: Agents and Walmart
May 21, 2009, 11:06 AM

I would of loved to see that phone price list. I dont see how this industry is ass backwards. Agents have a way better customer sales experience(not to mention higher ARPU) then national retailers(for the most part), especially wal mart. You would think it would be smart for AT&T to put everyone on the same page as far as price goes, this way it comes down to customer service rather then price. Thats interesting you had the ...

What irritates me the most about the whole situation is that corporate continues to tell us that they have roughly the same comp plan and phone price plan we do. So, to prove them corporate assholes wrong, I decided to send them an email showing the price for the Samsung Impression at Radio Shack which is $49.99. So, say we do a $9.99 upg for the Impression and sale it at $99.99 with a $50 MIR, us ...

Re: AT&T needs to do something about this 3G network!
May 20, 2009, 12:02 PM
in the AT&T forum

40% of all iPhones sold were new iPhone customers in the 2nd quarter. 1.6 million were sold. So that equivilates to about 640,000 new customers who purchased iPhones. Which is roughly half of net new customers added in the 2Q09. So to say AT&T wouldnt sign up any customers if it wasnt for the iPhone is simply moronic.

I'd say it really depends on what position you retain as the transition starts. If you do what your told to do, and do it well, you should be fine. Most middle to upper management I know at AT&T enjoys what they do. This is of course not including retail managers of COR locations. I hear alot of complaints from those people. Oh, and welcome to AT&T!

They initially rolled 3G out using 1900 MHz. Since 3G adoption is accelerating they are moving it to 850 MHz and moving 2G to 1900. They have already done this in many areas but not everywhere, including Atlanta.

Also another problem is in certain areas, usually the older 3G networks anyway, AT&T didnt put every tower on 3G. So for instance you could have 20 2G towers, and of those, 10-15 could be 3G. They have also noticed this is a problem as they underestimated the demand and are doing site overlays this year which will improve congestion and in building coverage.

Re: AT&T needs to do something about this 3G network!

Its quite annoying when in a 3G area, that your on a phone call and it switches to 2G. AT&T has noticed this and has said they are looking to cut this problem down to less then 1% occurence. Currently its around 5% depending on your area as this is an average nationwide. I was recently in Atlanta and OMG, the 3G was horrible. Atleast they acknowledged it and are going to fix it. But just ...

I'll agree with you Tex. As an owner of AT&T agent locations I am disappointed in AT&T. AT&T has been in this area far longer then VZ has. Recently with the purchase of WV Wireless and Alltel, I have seen VZ put up 6 new cell sites on my drive to my stores. Areas that AT&T has a gap in coverage actually. Yet VZ can come in and throw up a network in 6-9 ...

These rumors swirled before the iPhone 3G launch, although not as strong as these. I know, that when we have roundtable events the RAE's, RAM's and VP's of the region are always getting grilled about not being able to sell the iPhone. Sure would help agents during a recession. Let's hope our bit**ing is helping the cause.

If all of her numbers are on the old SIM card, you can still put it in the 6650 and copy them that way. No harm is done when placing the old SIM card in the new phone.
