Does anyone have any information on how the MirrorLink on this phone works? I'm looking into buying this phone with a Sony XAV 601BT (in-car MirrorLink system). I'd like to get some information how that connection actually happens. I understand that I will have to connect it to a MHL cable, but I don't know anything beyond that. How does it interface? Is it controlled by software on the phone? Is there something that needs ...

Rich doesn't really troll the regular forums. If it isn't brought to his attention, he might not fix it. That's what this forum is for.

They don't post information that is unconfirmed. Because Project Dark/Black is still just a rumor or speculation, they won't write an article on it. When T-Mobile announces...whatever it is they're going to announce, you'll see it here first.

It's not unusual for companies to trace employees posting on this website. It's happened a couple of times. People have been fired for posting information on this website in the past, and I'm sure it will happen again. He has a valid point.

T-Mobile will never carry a phone called the G2. Gatorade owns a copyright on the name. You'll never see it under the name "G2." The guy from the indirect kiosk has no idea what he's talking about.

No, you got a warning for calling someone a douche. "You're a douche," is not acceptable because it's a personal attack. "Don't be a douche," is fine because you're telling someone to quit acting like a ... douche.

That will never happen because the American consumer is used to paying cheap prices for cell phones. People already have the option to buy their own cell phone and pay for service monthly, but people just bitch and moan about the cost of the phone. Frankly, I'm more than happy to drop a few hundred bucks if it means I can leave the company whenever I want to. I just bought the Touch Pro 2 on ...

Having worked for several cell phone carriers, I can tell you that you probably would have run into the exact same problem with any carrier given the same situation. There are a lot of reasons why stuff like that happens on the business end, but that doesn't mean you don't feel shafted in the process. Every time you get a new phone (upgrade, new account, whatever), the carrier takes a loss on that device. They pay the retail ...

Have fun with whatever new carrier you go to. Just a word of advice before you change carriers though... Nokia doesn't make very good phones unless you get their really high end models. I worked for T-Mobile for about a year, and I just stopped selling Nokias after a while because I was so tired of dealing with problems of people coming back. It was usually the problems you describe, the white screen and crackling earpiece. ...

There's a version of the Touch Pro 2 being released on every carrier. T-Mobile customers got theirs first, but everyone else will follow suit in the near future.

alejandro made a link to it in the Lounge. SprintEarlyLife probably just clicked on that link and responded without thinking about it. It's not really a necropost so much as it was, "Remember this?" This guy read it and responded. And it should be bumped. It's goddamn hilarious.

Without the data service, you're not supposed to be able to access the internet using a wifi connection. You can still connect to wifi signals for voice calling, but you shouldn't be able to access the internet. There are some people that can still access the internet using wifi though so I would say just try it out if and when you get the phone.

I still refuse "Do you have any new androids coming?" I can't even think of a good analogy for it. It's like asking, "Do you have any of those 8 megapixels coming soon?" as opposed to asking for a digital camera.

I have the same feelings about "googling something" or "add me to your facebook/myspace" or "facebook me" etc. When did nouns become verbs? When did the general public become so lazy that they can't finish their sentence (by adding "page" to the end of facebook/myspace)? Communication is a lost art. At the current rate of change, I'm not going to be able to talk to anyone in ten years.

You caught a typo, but you caught the wrong one. It should have read: They sell phones that run the Android operating system. Not: The cell phones that run the Android operating system. Your "correction" just leaves the sentence as a fragment. Thanks for trying though. I appreciate your sincerest attempts at making my typos worse. Also, you just reiterated the point I was making. Asking when the new Windows Mobile will be out is idiotic unless you're wondering about ...

T-Mobile doesn't sell androids. To my knowledge, there aren't any androids in the world that they can sell. The sell phones that run the Android operating system. The way you worded your question would be the same as asking, "When will the new Windows come out? Anyone know when the new Symbians are due out?" Pretty obnoxious.

It's a teenager with a cell phone that's actually become part of his head. Don't feel bad. I didn't get it either. I thought it was a wild animal that had been tagged for observation.

I don't think there's any difference between the two when the intent is the same. Words are words. It's all in what you mean when you say them. People that try to dance around by saying "freak" or "ship" are just making themselves look stupid in the process.
