I see what's happened. When I post the link, it's adding a space in the URL. Even when I corrected this and re-posted, the spaces reappear. Screw it, I tried.

Here is a collection of all the "official" Episodes of Bob. I'm not gonna post all the shorter stories, because there were a lot of them, and most of them sucked. I managed to find the very first post of this story series. At least I'm pretty sure it's the first one. Since it's long since been removed years ago from phonescoop, I figured some people might enjoy to read it again. by repCB Episode 1 Bob, the Typical Cingular Customer, decides to stop in at the local McDonald's for his free breakfast...at noon. Looks like its all downhill from here... Cashier: Good afternoon and welcome to McDonald's, what will you be ...

This is pretty much what the Big Red guys use as well. And it never, ever works they way they think. See, the thing is, the big wigs listen to a few sample calls once in a while, and they think they heard every type of call. Too bad those calls are selected for specific purposes. They're not random calls, they're chosen as the best types of calls. They will never ever learn that you simply cannot script an entire ...

There are. Unfortunately they tend to get fired because upper upper management doesn't like people who do the right thing instead of what they're told. Only reason I'm still around is because my boss takes my head off the chopping plate a lot lol.

Yeah, I understand. That's exactly what I meant by OfAMightDivine said:Most supervisors/managers are just that. Sups and Management. They act based on what they are told, and do not have thoughts of their own. I was a rep before too. It's how I started and that kind of behavior infuriated me. True enough. But I feel that *most* people are good hearted and want to do a good job. A lot of those reps that fail right out of the gate are due to poor leadership from their management. Some people have the ability to take learning and self-respect in their own hands, most people however need to be taught it. Most supervisors/managers are just that. Sups and Management. They act based on what they are told, and do not ...

The sad thing is that they won't do anything to the customers who cause those once-good reps to go downhill. I've seen so many reps through the years slowly wither away because of customers. The companies do nothing. Think of how good customer service would be out there if reps were able to disconnect a call on a customer who just won't stop cussing. Or doing disgusting things. I've had so many reps in my office, in tears because ...

What part of *most* did you not understand? Good for you that you have some self-respect to do your job. Most people are idiots, and do not feel that way. Regardless of how you *think* it is, or should be, that is not how it is. Realize how most of your customers are. Is there really any surprise that most employees are like that, too? Most customers are self-important, ignorant and foolish. Most employees are like that. And yes, I ...

Re: why does Sprint run promotions on phones that are low on inventory?
Oct 1, 2010, 2:37 PM
in the Shop Talk forum

It's a marketing tactic. Nothing more. Keep the phones out of stock by giving 'limited quantities', which keeps the demand high, which generally keeps the sales high. They're using one of the most basic sales logic, supply vs. demand. Sure, they could pump out as many of those phones as they want in a short time, but they won't. Too many units lowers the percieved value of the device, and sales will drop.

'True Salesman' Heh. Good one. Here's the thing... you work for a business. That business wants nothing more than to get new lines of service, and new contracts. That is all. They don't care about decency or any of that 'feel good' jargon. They give the rep a better deal because it's cheaper for them to do so, than to pay out for you in a store. They then tell the rep his/her wages are based off their quality, ...

That's too bad, but that's also how it works in a Capitalist economy. The only thing that matters is the bottom dollar amount, and no one cares how it's gotten. Do you think anyone cares if you get undercut? No one likes to get a sale taken away, but you'll survive.

The first thing I would do is...

VZW also uses I believe 10 or 11 Vendor sites. Some of those pay on commission. Also, sometimes they hold contests for contacts where the more customers that get signed up on a contract, you get a bonus (IE, commission) Also, VZW does from time to time switch their agent's que around and puts reps skilled for one department into a different one. So, again, you do not know how that rep is being paid.
