This post orginally was a post were it was ordered in the warehouse and people send them to the store cause there was a wait time.

And Sales will tell you on the phone that once the order has been entered in the system it can`t be cancelled. Go try and call them now.

Of couse I ment use it for Textmessaging only like you ask you would need some of those features to block voice.

A phone with a keypad is quiet exspensive, there are still some Nokia 3300 flying around on ebay but the new SIM cards might not be working on those phones. But just to use it for Textmessaging, you would have to block the voice calls, there used to be features they sold for $ 1.99 I believe which lets you have only incoming calls only or outgoing calls only, if they still offer this I don`t know.

You forgot the rest of the post. That now the phone does not have to be returned anymore , since they keep track in the warehouse and send out letters if that IMEI is not returned. How do you verify , if you cancel a line lets say in the store, you upgrade that phone, then 4 days later the customer gets the phone in the mail from the online order. Yes most customers are honest and mail the phone ...

Look under the post : since this is a Nationwide forum... My information is most correct, and most of the time I give the website for it to confirm, just like I did in an answer to your last statement that Europe does not have 900/1800 and only 3G 2100 www.gsmworld.com www.umtsworld.com www.wirelessweek.com www.broadbandbusiness.c om www.itbusinessedge.com

Well, look, I have posted a forum myself. It is under, Since this is a Nationwide forum....I said this already a while ago. It all depends on what market you come from.

yes of course you need the others as a default for areas where you don`t have 3 G yet. Customers would be very very mad if they could use the 3G phone only in the under 20 markets where it is available. Remember how the old GAIT phones used to work? It was called a Dual phone, what do you think the phones are called now with the 3 G, also Dual phones.

You can be right, the other can be right, but here it will inflate a war between reps. specially reps from the same carrier who work in diff departments. None of the reps have knowledge of everything, but good reps ask questions before they call a dept and see what they can do to avoid calling that dept again and fix it themselves. That is the only reason I wrote this.

Cingular uses the UMTS towers for 3G, not the 850/1900, that is the old GSM we use.

It is not a problem if you don`t have the 850 mode, your voice will work fine on the 1900 or 3G network, UMTS is Data only. You might have dataproblems if it is not a branded phone and you are using an unlocked phone.

Since this is a Nationwide forum, you have to understand that what you able to do in one area of the US, like lets say the West market, you are not able to do in the Southeast market. So if somebody ask a question, or answer to a question they should refer to which area they are from. There are quiet a diff practices out there for the same thing. In one market it is possible to do and ...

Re: cingular service
Dec 16, 2006, 12:04 PM
in the AT&T forum

The reason for that could be the customer ordered it from wirefly, amazon or LetsTalk.com, those can be cancelled any time after the account is up. Since Cingular does not pay for the phone, it comes from that specific indept.agent. There is also a very new system in the cingular ordering process where it can be cancelled mabye 24 to 36 hours after you order and the account has been created. This new thing they do now, is that each ...

The Promo you might think of is, you get a Textmessage package for $$ a month, and the first months, you have unlimited access to Internet and Messaging, then on the 31st day you have only as much as the package you pay for.

Cingular NEVER had an unlimited Textmessage feature. Remember, Sales work for Commission to sign you up for serivce, call customer service, they don`t work for commissions if you want a correct answer.

If you order directly from cingular, you can`t cancel your order, not possible in the system. You have to wait till it is shipped then return, then you can take off the contract.

If you follow the threat correctly, I was replying to this question: So tell us, exactly what plan should a customer be on if he uses 1100 minutes anytime on average AND NOT ACRUE ROLLOVER?

Re: Calls not getting through
Dec 16, 2006, 8:39 AM
in the AT&T forum

All circuits are busy has something to do with the landline and how the calls are routed, not with the celllines. More people are on the phone at that time and also the landline could have damage and they are working on it.

There is a cingular plan without Rollover 1500 Anytime min and unl. Mobile to mobile, but I am sure you misundertand Anytime min. You maybe mean Peak minutes? Anytime min include Night and Weekends. Meaning Anytime you use your phone you use up minutes. No distiguishing of Peak or N&W.

Combine your home phone service with cingular, if you have one of the Bells as home serivce, and that will give you a discount on cingular service.

Re: Will Cingular match my Verizon plan pricing?
Dec 16, 2006, 8:27 AM
in the AT&T forum

Lets just say you will leave Verizon and then not happy with the new service and want to come back to Verizon, they will not give you the plan you had back, you will have to take one of their current plan, which is $ 39.99 So why should any other company give you a deal on that?

With cingular you are elegible 21 months into a 24 months contract to get a new phone. It beats Verizon by 1 months.

Re: Text messaging Pay-Per-Use increasing!!
Dec 16, 2006, 8:16 AM

Why would they sue cingular for Insurance increase? cingular is only the company who bills for it. They would have to sue the Insurance company for that, that is why you have not seen or heard about it. Cingular had nothing to do about that.

Re: cingular service

Sorry this is incorrect, once you placed an order online a new contract is in the system and you can`t walk in the store and upgrade. You would have to get that contract removed what is in the system when you upgraded online first.

Fact is that there is no such feature as unlimited Textmessages with cingular. it can not be offered, no matter how many times you say cingular will. Have you read the 16 page T&C you sign with cingular contract? One fact is that like in all contracts with companys, it says " you agree to "subject to change"

Re: Do most overseas carriers sell unlocked phones?

Verizon doesn`t lock their phones. The problem with unlocked phones you bring to the US and use on US carriers , you will have problems with Data services. They are not set correctly to the carriers settings. You might have a fancy phone, but can`t send textmessages, pictures or check email.

Re: Japan NO, China YES

www.gsmworld.com Japan operates on 3G 2100 China operates on all others 900, and in Hong Kong 1800 , 2100 , 3G more likely by a cheap phone over there if you are in Japan.
