I greatly appreciate your input and answer. I wouldn't consider myself a common user per say and get bored a little with the devices, but as you say the iPhone is a smooth user experience. I am strongly tempted about the bigger screen, true multi tasking of the s4 but Di like the flow if iOS even though its boring.

Currently have a jailbroken Iphone 5 had had apple since the Iphone 4 and had a droid X which was junk, but like the open platform of droid. Is the S4 worth the switch?

No not at all. And from what I'm reading there aren't major updates to the next iPhone so maybe the s4 is worth the try.

I'm like you about hating ATT. I just switched too. The battery seems to drain faster and I miss the surf and talk feature, but Verizon's cell service is so much better.
Question
I'm getting the Iphone 4 tomorrow and have a friens at Apple holding one of each. I am typically way more pro verizon, but read there download times on 3g are slower and you can't do data and voice. That being said, would you still go with them because of superior cell coverage?

While I'm excited Verizon is getting the Iphone once and for all, I do have a few questions. Does it make sense to purchase this model with no LTE capability, and will Verizon honor upgrades with the Iphone 5 probably coming out by July?

Does anyone know if there is a way or app, to give email a seperate tone from sms and phoe ringtones? It seems like when you set notification sounds it doe the same for sms and e-mail. Otherwise great device so far.

Thank you for recommending the site. I may be doing something wrong because the notifications settings is the same for texts and emails and I want them to have separate rings.

Very well said. The Iphone is an excellent device on an absolutely HORRIBLE network in AT&T. Lots of drop calls on the 3gs, not so on the Incredible. Carrier makes all the difference!

No, I'm saying the iPhone is a wonderful device but is limited by the crappy network they are on. The evo is also a wonderful device especially as 4 g coverage grows.

Yeah, you're right I guess i forgot how many dropped calls a day I had on my Iphone 3gs with AT&T or where they rank against the other carriers in call quality, NOT!

Funny how Jobs could not get a wifi signal to work on the new device today at the conference. Great device yeah, but only as good as the network that supports it and AT&T SUCKS!

sms tones vs email tones
I have a ringtones I want for my sms notifications downloaded from Zedge and a different one for e-mail but don't know how to do that. They end up having the same ring. Any suggestions?

I know the guts of the Incredible seems stronger and I don't argue Verizon is better but it seems like the Iphone is a more user friendly device as Ihave only quickly seen the incredible. Thoughts?

I took the plunge after over 5 years with Verizon and an avid Blackberry user. Amazing device, but very dissatisfied with the battery life. I have to recharge it throughout the day. It is making me think of returning it and getting the Blackberry tour. Otherwise it is truly a great device.

I thought the Storm would work like the Iphone with the Blackberry benefits i.e. push e-mail... I was mistaken and know they are working on a Storm 2. The 3GS is impressive. I had AT&T when they had TDMA technology and they stunk but I know many carriers including all of Europe and Asia use GSM now.
I just want to make sure it lives up to the hype before taking the plunge.

I have been a Verizon and Blackberry User for over 5 years. I have the often buggy Storm and am thinking of taking the plunge on the Iphone 3GS. I here spotty things about AT&T's network and Verizon is coming out with the Blackberry Tour in 2 weeks. Any thoughts?

Does anyone know if this update fixes the random re-boots the Storm does? I have had 6 of them and they all do it several times a day. I am running .75 and have done hard resets, wiped the phone...

I am on Storm #5 because of this. I know customer is aware that this occurs. They are hoping some firmware upgrades will help this. I am at the brink of going back to the Curve. I feel your pain and hope this gets corrected for you both.

I have had it happen and am about to be on my 5th device. They seem suprised by this and will be having another firmware upgrade soon.

Thanks for the 2 cents worth. I have done research on my own but have come to the board to see if others are having a similar experience. Hawk typically has a lot of insightful info to provide. That's all I'm saying. I don't need anyone else to do my research or anything else for me.

I agree with a prior comment that HawkeyeOC is a real authority and helpful regarding the Storm and the various issues/updates. I am still having my storm indicate a message is there and then be nonresponsive and require it to be powered on. This is my 4th one and I want to enjoy this device. I'm almost at the point of going back to my Curve.

I feel your pain. I am on my 4th Storm and want to love this device. My Storm will flash that I have a message then the screen is non resposive and shuts off on its own. I hear the 18th there should be another software update. I too am getting very frustrating.
This software update is leaked but should help
