No, don't worry. Unless you actually use medianet, you won't be charged. Call AT&T to confirm this if you want, but they will tell you the same thing.

It's the location of the nearest tower. It's really handy isn't it? I don't know how I lived without it before. Oh yeah, I remember, I had to look at the exit signs for the nearest city, and type that in. Yikes!
If anything, after the WM6 upgrade, my battery life seemed better...but hard to compare, because I did it only a week after getting a Blackjack off eBay.

Alarm sounding while on vibrate?
Having a good time trying this phone out. Oh yeah, much bigger than my Blackjack, but more functions too. One thing bothering me is that I like to sleep with the ringer off, but have the alarm wake me up. The 8525 doesn't seem to ba able to do this. Is this correct? Has anyone found a work-around? This is a pretty important feature for me!

I know from experience that both the Blackjack and the 8525, as long as they're upgraded to WM6, have GPS. I don't subscribe to GPS for "turn-by-turn" instructions (just not worth the price to me), but I use the feature in Google Maps, and it's great! WM5 didn't have this capability.
What's the truth about the "White Screen Problem"?
I'm looking to get one of these phones off ebay to replace my Blackjack. I've heard mention of a common problem where the screen goes white. How common is this? Is it a software or hardware problem (broken flex-cable?)
Any insights will be greatly appreciated!!
default storage to mini sd?
I'm trying to find the way to set my mini-sd card as the default storage, because if I try and download a large file, the internal memory is not enough to handle it. Tips on how to do this?

It says it will do everything Missing Sync does, but for free.
Once installed, it says can't connect, that I should switch security configuration to "application unlocked". However, I can't seem to find how to do this under the secutity settings...

Re: V3XX Media Finder Catalog problem
Try a "hard reset" by taking the battery out for a minute, then put in back and turn the phone back on. This procedure will usually fix most phone quirks. Good luck!

That's funny...on my manual, it says v3xx in tiny print right after motorazr. And it mentions v3xx many times inside. But also, if you take the battery out, there will be an id label, and on mine the first thing that reads in the upper left corner is v3xx. Good luck!

Yeah, I think you will. Two things to mention...the external screen is very dim, and actually almost unreadable in daylight. No way to change this, but it doesn't bother me. Internal screen is VERY bright, and if you really want to increase your battery life, best to knock the brightness down a few notches...you'll never notice, and it will increase battery life well over 50%. Heck, I keep mine on brightness 1 (out of 7), ...

I've had mine for almost a year now. For the price (with plan), it's a really good phone, and a good value. Much, much, much better than the older Razor models in every way. Call quality, features, ease of use...all good. Camera is not the best in low light, but does well otherwise. Help identifying gsm or cdma..and more. Need some knowledge!
So my sister gave me her old verizon 650. She has no info for it, so how do I tell if it's gsm or cdma?
Also, I had hoped to unlock this and use it with my at&t sim card, but this unit doesn't have the sim card tray, the port has a permanent cover. So this would be a no-go, right?

Can't change speed-dial numbers
I'm having a problem with speed-dial. I can't seem to change the numbers. I've tried two different ways, through the contact entry, and through the speed-dial settings. It says it's changed, but when I try it, it's still the old number. Any ideas? Thanks...

Well, in a word...no. That's proprietary territory that they're not letting go of. In fact, it was still Cingular when I got my phone, but the "logo" changed to AT&T when they did.

Sure. This is an annoying quirk of this phone, but I've learned to live with it. For some reason, when your outbox reaches a certain memory capacity, it will start sending as mms. Don't ask me why...it just does. So generally I keep my outbox fairly clean, although this quirk doesn't seem to kick in till you have 80-100 messages in there. Just happened to me last night cause I've been texting so much ...

Well with mine it saved the stretched picture...even when uploaded to my computer. I traded that one in, and the new one didn't have the problem.

I'm confused too. Half the things you are saying don't make sense. You're talking about songs and wallpaper in the same sentence. If you meant pictures, file size shouldn't be a problem, I've put plenty of 300k plus pics on my phone.
Why would you want a ringtone longer than 30 seconds anyway? Those things are annoying enough...why prolong the misery?

I have no problem doing this, but i use bluetooth transfer to my ibook. Don't know if it has anything to do with how the files are uploaded, but if your imac doesn't have bluetooth (I think not), you get get a (very) cheap usb bluetooth adapter. I did that on my old ibook that didn't have bluetooth, and worked fine.
Don't worry, your problem can be fixed. Some more details about what you have already tried ...

Anytime you have a software issue, you should "re-boot" by taking the battery out for a moment then put it back and start it up again. This fixes 99% of problems, but if it doesn't work, sounds like you might have a real issue. Good luck...

I would say to do two things, in this order. First, re-boot it by taking the battery out, let it sit for a minute or so, then put the battery back in and see if anything changes. Second, if this doesn't help, and really, I doubt if it will, but always worth a try...better take it in for a warranty replacement. Those symptoms are strange indeed, and not in the usual list of quirks for this ...

Well, in a word, you can't. At least not that I've found, and believe me, I've tried. You can set up a pop3 account through medianet mail, but it's really not pop3, and will reply with a medianet address. I want mail on my phone to reply with my pop3 address. I don't know...I sympathize with your problem, but I just don't hear it. One thing people forget is that call quality is a 2-way street, your phone AND the phone of who you're speaking. I am quite happy with the quality of the Razr, and especially love it's volume...I don't have to stick a finger in my other ear anymore when I'm talking outside!

I tried the Sync about 6 months ago, but ended up with the Razr. I'm very happy with it. The Razr will do everything the Sync will, but with a better interface, what I think is great call quality, and more internal memory. I don't remember all I didn't like about the Sync, but i do remember a big complaint as the horrible shutter delay of the camera. I had to hold it steady for 3 ...

Back in April, before the n75 came out, Joseph was daily singing it's praises since he said he had an advance model. Go back and read those threads. He directs people to "another" advance unit for sale on ebay...turned out to be his auction. I though that was against the forum rules. I tried to have him banned then, but was scolded by the moderator. Interesting to see him back talking about a different phone.

Well, anyway, it's always good to try that one. I had this happen once on my old phone, and couldn't get it to go away then either, but when the message expired on my voice mail, it went away on the phone notification. So this is probably not a permanent thing.

Just a thought...have you turned the phone off, then back on, essentially re-booting it? This seems to fix other little annoying quirks from time to time. For a "hard" re-boot, take the battery out for a minute.

Well, my report is that I've had this phone for about 6 months now, and that hasn't happened, although I did have it freeze once, but a restart took care of that.

Well yes, OperaMini does work, and I use it occasionally, but each time it needs new data, you need to approve it. That's every time. Try it with Google Maps and you'll see how frustrating it is. As far as I know, no one on this forum, or anyone else I've spoken with has a way to disable this. If you get used to it, it's not horrible, just a nuisance, and OperaMini is better ...

I don't have a memory card, and have no problem transfering pics to and from my computer via bluetooth. Btw, bubblegumxaddict, bluetooth is a "near-field" wireless system that allows devices in close range to connect together. Many newer computers, especially laptops, have this built-in, but you can always get a cheap usb adapter if you don't have it.

Ok, sorry to ask a stupid question, but are you pressing the right key? The side key on the right of the phone, not the right soft key on the keypad? The right side key is voice dial by default, and I can find no option to change it, mine works fine...possible you both have defective phones?

Nice! You're all set! Yeah, BT is slower, but I do like not having to connect a cable. Heck, the phone stays in my pocket while I transfer my files. I wish MPT had a Mac version, for that price I'd like to have it around.

I stand corrected! Right, with shipping it was $13.00. Still pretty cheap, and MPT is not an option for me since I'm a Mac user, but I haven't seen that good of a price for it anywhere. If you want, I'll send the url of the ebay store where I got mine, it's a regular stocked item for them.
